Oxford City Cllr for Marston. Loves growing stuff - including young people, trees, food, book-lovers and communities. It's dirty work, but worth the mess & mud. Views are my own.

When I lived in Scotland, people often used to say to me “Don’t worry if you’re not happy with the weather, it’ll change in 15 minutes.” And they weren’t lying. It wasn’t uncommon to have all four sea...

🥀 First we replace Labour. Then we overtake Reform.

of COURSE Reform know Brexit has made us poorer, and will do so for many years. That's the whole point. Reform have no success if the people in this country are happy and satisfied. They thrive on people being frustrated and angry. They NEED as many of us to be poor and without perspective.

Transport hubs were one of the key things disabled people in our recent research recommended.

One place, where people can walk, wheel and cycle to catch buses, trams and trains; with seating, shelter and accessible toilets whilst we wait.

An unexpected and cheerful review of @emilykerr36.bsky.social and mine's recent antics in @oxfordclarion.bsky.social this week, from railways to beavers.

"Very chipper" is a wonderful understatement on @greenparty.org.uk surging membership numbers. I personally have been bouncing off walls.

I'm supporting the Oxford Campaign led by @acornunion.bsky.social to stop bad landlords. There are 100s of bad landlords in Oxford and only 18 improvement notices were handed out last year by Oxford City Council. This needs to improve. @sheltercharity.bsky.social

Excellent news
Big news for me! I've just been announced as the Active Travel and Cycling Champion for Oxfordshire County Council.

As this is an Oxfordshire-wide role, I'm very keen to know more about rural routes especially.

Shout out to the Lib Dems for appointing an opposition councillor - they're serious. 💚

Labour should be tacking left a) because austerity is a morally and economically bankrupt policy and b) it's a sensible strategy for them electorally.

Tory voters are heading for Reform far far more than Labour voters are.
