Anyone who’s had to navigate blocked pavements knows exactly why this matters. Being forced into the road isn't safe and no-one should be put in that position.

This is a clear reminder that promises mean nothing without action.
5 years after the Government promised to fix pavement parking, we marked the “anniversary” with cake, candles & a giant card, Everything except the progress everyone was promised. Blind & partially sighted people are still at risk. Write to your MP: https://f.mtr.cool/jkdxpmteyo

Safe, accessible streets should be something we can count on. Yet 96% of disabled people told us they run into barriers whenever they leave the house.

We can all help make our streets easier to use. As it's #RoadSafetyWeek we're asking: what part could you play?

The Railways Bill came to Parliament on Nov 5. It offers the chance to rebuild Britain's railways so disabled people can travel with freedom, dignity and confidence. But only if words lead to meaningful action.

Love this World Toilet Day loo-tour! 🚽

Accessible toilets shouldn’t be hit-and-miss. They’re essential for disabled people to travel with confidence. We shouldn't be stopped in our tracks because the loos we can use are locked, broken or missing.
#WorldToiletDay is TODAY! 🚽

🔍Today, the London Loo Alliance will be touring the transport network to inspect some of TfL’s public toilet facilities to see which stations are ‘on a roll’ and which stations are ‘loos’ing out.

Everyone should be able to just get on a train and go. But for some disabled people the journey ends at the platform.

Let's close the gap and build a railway that works for us all. Find out more about the issues disabled people face on our website: https://bit.ly/4oXCBhC

Tonight, our Co-CEO Cat Whitehouse is joining industry leaders at Aston University to celebrate 200 years of the railways. In her speech she'll be talking about why we can't - and won't - wait another 200 years for a railway that is accessible to every disabled person.

Mobility means more than getting from A to B. Freedom to travel brings new experiences and opportunities.

Government cuts could take away more than disabled people's cars - they could take away our freedom. Let's protect our independence. Learn more on our website: https://bit.ly/49E3QJt

A plain A4 placard in our archive reads: Nothing about us without us.

Five simple words, one powerful idea behind decades of Disabled rights activism. And that reminds decision-makers today that real change must be led by us.

We should all be able to move through our streets freely and safely, but barriers like broken pavements, street clutter and missing dropped kerbs make it difficult for many of us.

It’s time for streets that work for everyone. Learn more on our site: https://bit.ly/4oWaHCu

Streets that work for disabled people work better for everyone.

Decluttering our streets makes our communities safer, easier to navigate and more welcoming. And we can all play a role in making that happen.

If you could change one thing about your local streets, what would it be?
November 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM
Most journeys begin with walking or wheeling from our front door. But when repairs mean hazards and blocked pavements, our streets can become no-go zones.

You shared your experiences. Today Co-CEO Cat Whitehouse is at #StreetWorks2025 to make sure your voices reach repair crews.

A great opportunity to catch up on Isabelle's talk about the freedom to cycle. From the social model of disability, to why cycles (not just bicycles) are vital mobility aids for many disabled and older people, this is a brilliant and thought-provoking watch.
If you weren't able to attend Isabelle's talk last week about "Ensuring that Freedom to Cycle is Accessible to All”, the video of the talk is now available.

Exactly! When buses, trains, streets, stations - and tunnels and everything else - work for disabled people, they work better for everyone. With accessibility at the heart of society, we all gain.
This wheelchair user didn’t want to believe the lift wasn’t working at the other end of the tunnel. Disabled people should be at the centre of transport policy. #AndyLord #GreenwichFootTunnels @transportforall.org.uk @inclusionlondon.bsky.social

We all want our independence, but public transport is inaccessible for many Disabled People, so we need a car. The Motability Scheme makes that affordable for many of us.

That's why we're concerned about rumoured cuts to the scheme. Mobility matters. Find our more: https://bit.ly/49E3QJt

Brilliant work from Disability Action York to push for change on the shortage of accessible taxis in North Yorkshire.

Everyone should be able to get where they need to go, when they need to go. That’s what real accessibility looks like.

North Yorkshire disabled people 'isolated' due to lack of taxis
Campaigners say at least 200 more disability-friendly taxis are needed.

We all want the freedom to choose how we travel. But when public transport is inaccessible for so many disabled people, a car can be our only choice.

Rumours of Government cuts to Motability are concerning. We're telling the Chancellor to think again: https://bit.ly/49E3QJt

To most people, data isn’t that sexy. But bear with us while we get our geek on!

Data shapes town planning.
And town planning shapes access.
When Disabled people aren’t in the data, we’re not in the plan.

That's where our research team comes in.
Better insight. Better planning. Better access.
