The Secretary of State for Transport has appointed Sharon Clelland as a Traffic Commissioner for Great Britain. Ms Clelland will take up her new role on 6 April 2026 and will be Traffic Commissioner in Scotland, overseeing licensing and regulation of bus, coach and goods vehicle operators and registration of local bus services. Her remit also covers public inquiries when operators may be called to examine concerns about vehicle and driver safety, and conduct hearings dealing with professional drivers.

Good news from Greater Manchester. Time restrictions are being lifted on disabled people's bus passes from 1 March.

Now we need other areas to follow suit to end the postcode lottery. Let's make 2026 the year we can all make the journeys we want, when we need to make them.
