The consultation closes TODAY. And I’ll be responding as follows. If you agree with my points, it would be great if you could also respond.

Back in 2020, Stockport Council consulted on a walking and cycling scheme along (or occasionally parallel to) the A34. It was a mixed bag, but local campaigners supported it with several caveats.

It’s back for another consultation – because part of the scheme is being dropped.

Today we rode to demand safer streets for women cycling in winter.

Cycling is joyous but many women feel left out of our movement. It's time that changed.

A wonderful “Lights Up 2025” #glowride Disco On Wheels cycle in Manchester this evening. Many parks & quiet routes feel unsafe to women & girls in the dark nights. About 200 cyclists with music+lights. Empowering ✊🚦💡🚲
Thanks organisers & ride leaders.

The #Oxford #CongestionCharge is already having a positive effect because its political leaders had the bravery to see it through. The evidence is that this works & make public transport more attractive. All councils should have powers to implement congestion charging @walkridegm.org.uk
Cllr Dr Alex Powell (@apowelllaw.bsky.social)
It is perhaps indicative of how effectively the congestion charge is working in Oxford City that my bus this morning had to hold at 4 different stops to regularise the service to the timetable. It's…

*manifesting a world where this much money is spent advertising bikes and walking*
Trapped in traffic and stuck travelling long distances to work because of car-centric planning?

Be grateful, says Mercedes-Benz’s latest advert which aims to persuade us that spending two years of our lives stuck inside a car is somehow actually a good thing.

Seven years into #MadeToMove very little of this vision has been delivered. This will go down as a huge missed opportunity to make travel cheaper and improve health and air quality in #GreaterManchester.

We call upon the city’s politicians to restore the vision #BeeNetwork @walkridegm.org.uk

At several locations across the city where bike bus routes cross busy intersections, the Portland Bureau of Transportation has programmed traffic signals with a custom, bike bus-friendly timing plan that is activated by a longer push of the beg button.

Last year I realised something that has changed my perspective on advocacy

At @walkridegm.org.uk we noticed social media wasn’t having a meaningful impact on active travel delivery, so we shifted our focus to more constructive spaces

Hey, remember when car and oil companies successfully lobbied governments to create car dependent cities and suburbs, and once we became almost completely car dependent, WE became the loudest, angriest champions of unhindered road space for cars, unnaturally cheap gas, and subsidized free parking?

📯Huge Opportunity for Public Space Improvement

Do you want to see a joined-up #BeeNetwork in #GreaterManchester?

Then have your say on this impressive proposal for Seymour Grove.

It's ambitious on paper, but local Councillors need confidence that there's public backing to approve it.

Brilliant news. Having decent cycle lanes gives another option for how to travel. Hopefully some of those who cycled their journey will do it again as it was convenient, healthy and fun 🚲 🙌 #cycling #activetravel

If you scroll aaaall the way to the bottom they've managed to put in *one* positive comment.

Please can we have a bit more balance and research next time, @manchestereveningnews.co.uk? It's a well-evidenced fact that schemes like this are good for businesses and residents.

A good news story for a dreary Friday! What a wonderful bunch of humans.
TREK BATH IS THE BEST BIKE SHOP IN THE WORLD. Claire recognised my bike on the way in to work and said “that’s not meant to be there” and TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP!! They called me and refused any sort of finders fee. I do not deserve people like this.

Walk Ride GM was horrified by the recent news of a hate crime against Klaudia Mitura on the Ashton Canal.

There is no excuse for violence, including this example of male violence against women.

Incidents like this are made more likely by a widespread press and media bias against cyclists.
