Misinformation-based policy-making or tabloid-headline-chasing policy-making were never good ideas.
...And in terms of asylum applications per 10,000 people the UK is lower down, at 16 per 10,000 people in 2024...

Cities w/ good mass transit should ban cars (excepting disabled folks) and expand cycle and bus routes. HGVs only allowed within certain hours. SUVs banned completely forever.
Cities without good mass transit need to build it.
Nationalise trains, reopen everything Beeching closed. Capped pricing
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Perhaps we could limit power-to-weight for EVs, when in cities, the same as we do for e-bikes?

250W for a 100kg bike+rider would translate to around 4kW for an EV

(EVs currently have 100kW and up!)
China is bringing the hammer down on hyper-fast EVs, setting a minimum 5 seconds for accelerating from 0 to 100 KMH (62 MPH).

For context, the Rivian R1S hits 60 MPH in 2.6 seconds, as does the Tesla Cybertruck in "Beast Mode." (H/t @reillybrennan.com)
China mulls limiting cars' default performance as EV crashes frequently occur
China plans to require passenger vehicles to default to a state where acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes less than five seconds upon each startup.

We're hearing more and more cases where Disabled people are being denied the right to use safe powered mobility aids for essential mobility in their homes, workplaces, education, healthcare and transport settings.

Mobility isn't nice-to-have: it's essential.

Anyone who agrees that these workers are exploited, yet keeps using the services of companies that exploit the workers, is quietly assisting with the exploitation.
We are living in a real-life episode of Black Mirror: an app dispatches workers, monitors their every move, while riders - some using rented identities - risk abuse, exhaustion and invisibility.

Life as a food delivery worker: ‘Sometimes men open the door naked’
To earn a living as a delivery rider, some work 10-12 hour days, contending with low pay, exhaustion, accidents, injuries and harassment. Is this a new form of modern slavery?

OK, I'll hold my hand up and admit that I got it completely wrong when I called Labour Tory-lite.
That's provably not true, as they are in fact Reform-lite.
For Shabana Mahmood to attack some of the most cruelly treated people in the world as having won a "golden ticket" because they manage to get to and claim asylum in Britain is unforgiveable.

A new, far right, low for which I can think of no precedent, by any UK Government.

Just checked the summerhouse, not been in there all year. Its soaked inside, must be a big split in the roof felt. Had to move the sofa into my shed to let it dry out. 😁 no one believes this wasn't intentional.
