The UK Terminal at Amsterdam Centraal feels like something out of Severance. So many people here, but so quiet.

Does anyone know whether you need a valid ticket or if there's someone you should contact if you see something that doesn't look right while on board the Eurostar?

I've not been told this whole journey and it's starting to worry me.

"And so it is that Starmer is more closely linked with a man who stated “I do not want to live by salary alone” than with one who donates 15 per cent of his salary to a homeless charity each month. For a Prime Minister who aspired to lead a “government of service”, that is a tragic place to be."

I asked a member of Underground staff today if she could open one of the wide gates (both red Xs) at Kings Cross St Pancras to make it easier for me to get through with my suitcase.

She insisted I could fit through a narrow one, she'd closed both wide ones to stop fare evaders barging through. Wild

Controls and checks at St Pancras took 10 mins (of which 5 was me having to take my diabetes supplies out and get them checked separately).

Maybe being told to arrive 75 minutes early is a bit excessive.

I usually like the Smartless podcast but had to stop listening to the Charli xcx episode when Jason Bateman suggested she might want kids when she finds the right guy and Charli says "I'm married" 💀

At a meeting of Newham Council's Overview and Scrutiny Committee last week, councillors discussed the West Ham Park LTN.

Cllr Lakmini Shah (Lab) asked council officer Richard Wadey whether the consultation had taken into account that multi-gen ethnic minority families buy 20kg bags of rice.

On Sunday, we went to Walthamstow.

There, we went to the pump house museum, where I sat in the driver's cab of a tube train, the Ancient House (from the 1400s), and God's Own Junkyard (lots of neon). Please see attached. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I went to see the new Bazalgette Embankment on Saturday. Contrary to a right-wing outrage account I saw, there were trees, and nice-smelling flowers.

And from reading the piece in London Centric, I know the big black things will be water features.

It was pleasant. I enjoyed the lions.

Even when they're apologising to a five year old child for a police force taking him to a detention centre they just can't help themselves from writing that America is the "most powerful, prosperous nation on earth".
Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

Anyone know how to buy a peak-time Railcard discounted Underground to National Rail ticket from an Underground stations? It doesn't let you select a 16-25 or 26-30 Railcard. If I could get to a National Rail station I could pick it up, though that would defeat the point...

Would have liked to have replied to a comment saying this article was a 'Bit of a nothing article' with my view that actually it's interesting to hear a range of voices sometimes, but unfortunately the comments on this 'publicly-funded' journalism are paywalled. manchestermill.co.uk/why-the-mill...

In the market for some cool/hip shoes/trainers - the kind that people five or six years younger than I might wear.

Any suggestions?
