Our politics seems to be entering a phase of "right supremacy" where only the lives of right-wingers have value. Assassinating the leader of a state legislative body in her own damn home was business as usual, but all of America has to have a reckoning if it's a far-right online influencer.

Been noticing a lot more smut on here lately. Can't say I'm crazy about it. That's part of the reason I left the Nazi site. It's nowhere near that bad yet but I've been seeing a lot more thirst trap profiles than I used to.

Everyone is yelling at Ian about this but the article is good and this is a real problem! If you are a straight guy trying to get laid 99% of the advice you come across will be right wing-coded.
The left is completely silent on the subject of men getting laid - which, generally speaking, they are v.interested in doing and will continue to be interested in regardless of whether progressives want to talk about it. So the stage has been left entirely clear for the far-right.

the thing about this is like, you don’t have to like mamdani specifically, you don’t have to like any of these people specifically, but, if you don’t, you need to ask yourself who you *do* like, and if the answer is “no one”, you should stop following politics

This is why I find the “Dems must *reform* the Supreme Court, not expand it” arguments so frustrating. There is no reform other than expansion that solves the problem of a 6-3 conservative supermajority. Term limits, ethics codes, great. But it’s all window dressing as long as these numbers hold.
We'll need a system where political and business elites are subject to laws again which at minimum means a different supreme court
