The fact that so many powerful people have gone noseblind to Hitler particles is the next catastrophe after Trump succumbs to the reaper's icy grip. We can't rebuild democracy on a foundation of rot
a fun fact is that ostensibly reputable people in journalism treat hanania like he's a serious person with views worth taking seriously
I'm just fascinated by what's going on in the Bay Area

the actual suicide of the West will be combining a rapidly aging population with hostility to migrants. however we must give credit to East Asia, especially Japan, for pioneering this model.

Ernest Satow:
As somewhat of a Niponophile (that's Japan lover to all you gaijin on here) I enjoy this most honourable country's esoteric cinema, like that of Akira Kurosawa (you probably wouldn't get him don't even try) and Hayao Miyazaki (think of him as the Michael Bay of drawing cartoons),

Just learning that following someone around and whispering "memento mori" in their ear is generally frowned upon unless you were specifically asked to do that

The premise of Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is that you play as a farmer. That is incorrect. You play as an artisanal food processor who has a farm.

I am amused by the fact that, when we talk on the phone and it's starting to get cold, my mom will feel the need to remind me to wear a jacket when I go out as though that is something that would not occur to me naturally.

Creating video game chapter labeled "The Cost of Revenge", but it's about raising the money to fund your eventual and satisfying revenge plot
When a major story beat in Ghost of Yotei was labeled "The Cost of Revenge," I felt relief because I am glad a Playstation game is finally covering this topic. I hope we can get some answers re: revenge, and whether it is a bad thing, and maybe even causes a cycle of violence

This is another failure of the Popularists. The People can in fact be wrong. Reality exists, independent of what The Masses say and want. I want a world where policy is driven by fact and reason, not based on what the 15 dumbest and most fickle people think on a Wed. at 2 PM.

"Crime, as you think of it, largely doesn't exist" is a true statement that sounds insane and will kill your political career, but some of us gotta make the argument.
Yeah but they don't mean all that fake pretend crime like large-scale financial fraud or endemic bribery, they mean *real* crime like that teenage boy graffitiing a bus stop one time.
we have an addiction in America when we have a crime syndicate in control of the federal government and people still think they are the ones who are tough on crime.

I'm starting to think that what news consumers think is newsworthy and what reporters think is newsworthy is very different and not in a way that reflects well on reporters.
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

Darkly funny that Stephen Miller has been turning the big dial that says "Racism" and doesn't realize why you have to look back at the audience like it's the Price is Right

Them: We have spent the last 12 years molding a cadre of 10 year olds into the perfect, superhuman killing machines in a 300 billion dollar super soldier program.

Me: Oh that's cool. We spent the last year training a bunch of 18 year old alcoholics how to accurately call in airstrikes.

if you want good federal government you need good federal government workers, and if you want good federal government workers you need to compete for them in the labor market.

apparently this is controversial now and i don't think it should be.

Hyacine: Professor Anaxa tried to teach Miss Jingliu about weakness breaks saying they were "a natural law of the universe."

Dan Heng: ...And what did she say?

Hyacine: "Do not recite laws at women with swords."
