It’s jarring how many people get much more worked up about the “what if” scenario of Palestinians using a position of power in the way Israel does right now.

Mass murdering tens of thousands of civilians, annexing multiple neighbouring countries, settler colonialism, starvation etc.

Amazing how not a single Taoiseach has managed to criticise Trump during Paddy bowl with any more bravery than *Enda Kenny* did (softly) in 2017.

Did dry January now for the second time no bother. Once again noticed absolutely zero difference. A huge win for the drink I’m afraid!

An investigation by a German outlet has found that in German supermarkets, wines from illegal settlements in the illegally occupied West Bank are labelled as "from Israel".

This violates both EU regulations and the International Court of Justice's advisory ruling on the occupation of the oPT.

It’s kind of an obvious point but the disparity between the UK and US responses to Epstein is wild. In Britain the scandal might well bring down the PM, even though he wasn’t in the files at all. While in the US, the president and many others who were deeply incriminated just blithely carry on
Sure, a wide array of American elites were palling around with a pedophile and eugenicist but did you know that a Pedro Pascal fan account on bluesky is being slightly hyperbolic when posting about it

Tech giants Meta, Google and TikTok are before the Oireachtas Media Committee today... as was long flagged, X has refused to take part.

X even went so far as to reject a written request from the Taoiseach to appear before the Committee.

Israel don't get enough credit for pioneering a border free world. Just driving their tanks wherever the wind takes them.

My broad view is there is as big, or bigger, issue with older adults and social media as with young people - and that social media bans are just a sticking plaster that allows us to ignore the wider issue.

Ultimately we need proper regulation and enforcement, not bans which allow us to ostrich

I'm sorry but it's very funny to me that the legislature of a G7/P5 country of 70 million is currently drafting the "Fuck This One Guy in Particular Act of 2026."

Also, imagine tolerating a system of privilege so entrenched you need to rewrite centuries-old rules just to get at one douchebag.

Still doesn’t explain how Ukraine can be confident:
- The White House won’t just believe the Russian narrative about a ceasefire violation after 1 phone call to the president
- European countries would be willing to jump into a hot war with Russian soldiers when they clearly aren’t today
⚡️72 hours and the USA will enter war with Russia.

The notion Russia might try annexing a bit of Estonia is totally ridiculous fear mongering, but there is a VERY real risk of Ireland being DRAGGED into WW3.

Trump won 2 elections. Annexing Ukraine is extremely popular in Russia. It would be nice to boil the awful behaviour of dangerous nuclear powers down to one bad guy but it‘s just not true.
So we all know that the whole of Russia is not "Putin."

All of the United States is not "Trump."

Please stop getting confused.

Thanks.

Unemployment is falling. Inflation is falling. Immigration is falling.

All things which seem to have zero impact on political debate in Europe, and which i suspect millions of voters do not know
Eurozone unemployment has never been lower. That’s partially good news, partially a sign of aging societies not being able to replace retiring Baby Boomers.

Retirements > entrants. Youth cohorts are smaller - that explains falling youth unemployment figures. Migration helps, but not enough.

Wow still going this hard on this bollox in 2026? Ireland first, let Ukrainians be bombed and frozen to death.

Sinn Féin will always be populist nationalists first, leftists and cosmetic “anti-imperialists“ second.

"Anti Imperialism is a commitment to confronting empire" is an incredible thing to say after basically proposing that Britain's reaction to American and Russian expansionism should be to do nothing
The answer is “no”.

Every pound spent on bombs & tanks is money stolen from schools & hospitals.

Anti-imperialism isn’t vibes, it’s a commitment to confronting empire.
