Just stumbled across this list of requests Frank Sinatra had in the 1980s for his dressing room. Weirdly fascinating and intimate reading to be honest.

During WWII the US Military sent out a booklet to soldiers stationed in Australia called “Instructions for American Servicemen in Australia”. This marvelous comparison of the food consumption in both countries made me chuckle. The booklet is a surprisingly fun read: amzn.to/4r3QH2h

This map shows the Eurasian land mass. We see Eurasia from a different angle, we gain a new perspective. Richard Edes Harrison shaped the way Americans viewed the world during and after WWII like no other. A true master of the craft. Source: buff.ly/3qCX7r7

I’m thinking a lot about how to create social cohesion in societies that feel ever more divided. I concluded that a shared love for cheesecake might be our best bet…

Good lord! Air pollution was linked to 182,000 deaths in the EU in 2023. This explains why the EU wants to cut air pollution. I knew that air quality in the Italian Po Valley and in part of Poland were particularly bad but wouldn't have expected such high numbers. Source: buff.ly/s62aXST
