I'm a few days behind but I finally watched Valve's Steam Machine reveal and it was pretty refreshing to see a company launch a category defining flagship product without using the word "AI" once in the reveal or any of the promotional material.

Old enough to remember when the Chicago media kept finding people who said they'd leave the city if Brandon Johnson was elected, and then the data came out and between 2023 and 2024, Chicago actually reversed a long-term downward trend and added more than 20,000 people. Mentioning this just cause.

What I don't understand about this is that locking products up like this literally cuts into profits because any "shrinkage" is always going to be less than what losses come from not having a product that shoppers can actually access.

We've gotten a lot of feedback over the years that this ep is an audience favorite. Brain Scratch w/ Sarah Hightower takes a Cowboy Bebop story and roots it in real-life cults, including Heaven's Gate and Aum Shinrikyo. The story doesn't end in the 90's!
