Hi new (apparently mostly Colorado) people! I am a librarian/archivist at a private university here, I am from Kansas (6 gens back on my mom's side), and I am an abolitionist, believer in harm reduction, and the need to protect public goods and services, including but not limited to libraries.
I mean I don't know that I would wager a guess on volume but these are definitely the guys who are still married. You can add in some Gen X dads as well.
For all the far right commentary on alpha males, you know who probably gets consistently laid the most right now… millennial Dads that unload the dishwasher. The early 2000s college men that actually viewed their girlfriend as an equal member of society are some of the most stable marriages ever.

NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:

A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

Joyce Carol Oates is indeed the Azealia Banks of literature.
I’m not active on Twitter anymore but if I were I’d be so annoyed that I stopped following Joyce Carol Oates over some previous horrible take. Joyce Carol Oates is the Azealia Banks of literature. Embarrassing but very entertaining and often deadly towards people who deserve it

ICYMI if you're in Boulder County but the Independent Monitor and City Attorney are doing their damndest to undermine the even very limited authority of the Police Oversight Panel. Those of you who follow Boulder politics, are you surprised? 🙃

truly impressed at how terrible Kim Davis is that even the Supreme Court we currently have doesn't want to touch her case.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
