Here's looking at you, Alastair Fucking Campbell.
One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals.

When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.

It says a lot about how government works in Britain that people will pretend you’re not a massive sleazebag for decades but the moment the calculus shifts to negative they will mobilise every resource to destroy you

For those that can’t remember tiny bits of news from September 2025:

Lord Mandelson failed security services vetting & agency officials went on the record saying Mandelson was a bad idea.

This was ignored by UK Gov/PM.

Wonder how many Children of the Zone there are on Bluesky? #zonechild #FreakZone
BBC Radio 6 Music
Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone

Stuart's featured album is Dorothy Carter's acid folk drone masterpiece Waillee Waillee. Plus Kevin Ayers, Magazine and a smidgen of Polish jazz funk.

This is the first time I’ve read details about a bomb that was set off in residential London street, destroying cars and sending shrapnel into kids’ bedrooms.

Young people are considered vulnerable online, but the actual radicalisation of old generations is given a free pass by the press.

The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

Ultimately you're not supposed to believe it. It not mattering is the point. The bolder the lie, the greater the impunity. The ultimate victory for evil is not convincing you, it's the truth being irrelevant.

is it a good sign that 2 people you've invited to be on your "Board of Peace" can't join you in Switzerland because they would be arrested for war crimes?
