FWIW I think podcasts and social media fulfil a similar role to what pubs and working men’s/gentlemans/golf clubs provided men in the past - a kind of low/no-commitment social interaction. Yes, it’s the same people having the same conversations. That’s the point.

I reckon this year we’ll see a change in what people call “AI”. It’s not helpful for anyone that specialist machine learning tools get called the same thing as p*rn-generating chat bots. Also, there will be new genAI tools which the makers will want to distance from the old stuff.

So now there’s a weird situation where the rw press complain about flags appearing incorrect on the Eye (prob because they’re actually projected small onto gauze so details are lost), and City Hall having to defend it by saying how small they were (which they wouldn’t be if the projection was real)

Oh - the animations in the middle of the London Eye aren’t added to the feed digitally. Instead they set up a small Hologauze projection right in front of the camera so it appears like it’s in the middle of the Eye. Why?! Somehow that’s worse?

I wish everyone the kind of 2026 which ends in the full, upbeat version of the Boswell Sisters, and not the slow fade up version.
People are doing their "biggest impact on the Internet". Sadly I think mine is just annoying anyone looking through videos of the Boswell Sisters on YouTube because of the disproportionate number of comments on their song "Rock and Roll".
