I'm in a group chat with about a dozen former coworkers and I texted if any would be work references while I'm job hunting, to have backups for the three I already had, and 8 of them immediately said yes.
One of them texted that I need to come back because I was irreplaceable.

If you're in any large city, start googling for mutual aid jail support.
Lots of places have informal groups in place that do this kind of thing already, because local police also release folks into the cold, at night, with no resources.
