I’m not sure the investors into AI have fully thought through how quickly their big investments will pay off as their other investments get utterly torched by the rumours of what AI will do to them.
But hey: they’re rich & based on the rules of economics their wisdom makes them naturally in demand

There comes a point when debate is largely an irrelevance & a punch or two - maybe starting in the gut to emphasise the gravity of the situation & then in the face as a message to others - is the only logical way forward

According to multiple NYT sources, it wasn’t even military personnel at Fort Bliss that fired an anti-drone laser at alleged cartel drones. It was CBP who used the weapon on loan from DoD against a child’s party balloon they mistook for a drone. The Pentagon gave CBP an anti-aircraft weapon.

Someone told me lately "Bluesky is just like Twitter." I argued that was untrue on the basis that last time I had a Twitter account most times I got a new follower their bio said "single & looking for fun" & here when I get a new follower it tends to say something like "professor of rare moths".
