every employee of the VA, and every veteran, now has definitive proof that Doug Collins does not have their back and will exploit their death for political gain

the focus is rightly on Noem but this is disqualifying and he should resign or be impeached as well
Absolutely shameful to throw your employee under the bus when they’re murdered, but that’s what happens when you’re in the dumbest cult of personality in the history of the world

They're used to a central hierarchy providing them with everything to throw shit into the gears of progress.

That's to our advantage: if they don't understand selflessness, community and charity then they also don't understand how to make it stop.
I mostly just stay off Twitter altogether but after double checking that the Walter Hudson post was still up I ran across this and just had to share so the Romancelandians who bought hand warmers could hear about the PROFESSIONAL GRADE LOGISTICS.

I hate to be cynical, but while I’m not doubting that Trump told Cruz to fuck off, its framing here seems more like Cruz is aiming for a sympathy vote from “moderate” conservatives.
Sorry Teddy, you don’t get to have it both ways. You’ll have to deal with the consequences of your actions.

If he really gave a shit about redemption, he wouldn't be doing this in front of the cameras.

No.

He does it silently, away from cameras, away from public image rehabilitation, away from anything that lets him put his name on it.

He serves, and he shuts the fuck up, and that's all he gets. Anything else is between him and his god.

The party that has spent unlimited resources and energy getting states to pass laws to allow citizens to openly carry loaded weapons anywhere - now believes that exercising this right is permission for law enforcement to murder you.

Honestly, how dumb do they think we are?

we didn't finish denazification. we didn't finish desegregation. we didn't finish reconstruction. every opportunity for transformative change was deliberately sabotaged by american leaders who knew their wealth would not survive a world freed from eugenics, white supremacy, and war profiteering.
people do understand that the nuremberg trials were largely show trials to distract from the fact that the US was poaching any high profile nazis that were beneficial to their cause & that denazification in the west sectors didn't really take off

The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

The NRA hasn't been a gun rights organization for decades. They have had two purposes:

1) Make a lot of money for the gun industry by convincing insecure men to collect expensive weapons.

2) Stoke right-wing paranoia for political gain.

So of course they're taking this stance.
Folks have been noting the creepiness of this NRA statement on the Minneapolis murder that DOESN'T affirm Alex Pretti's right to have a gun at a protest, instead blaming "radical progressive politicians lie Tim Walz" who have "incited violence against law enforcement officers" for his death....

Backing Kristi Noem’s impeachment is the bare minimum.

Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.

ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.

And what is happening inside ICE detention centers? 404 Media also learned that the federal government claimed that the day after it was sued for allegedly abusing detainees at an ICE detention center, a “system crash” deleted nearly two weeks of surveillance footage from inside the facility.

This question gets to the heart of the matter - of the disagreement - for me.

"...how do you expect to come *close* to dismantling, defunding etc ICE at all?"

I don't want to come close. I don't want lip service as the best we can do. I don't want "It woulda been worse if it was the other guy."
None of this discussion attempts to answer my question: "If Dems don't win the midterms how do you expect to come *close* to dismantling, defunding, etc ICE at all?

It's not happening with the GOP MAGAts in charge, the only chance to defund, dismantle ICE is by Dems winning midterms.

This is so accurate, it should be used as a textbook definition.
a CEO is a vibes based position who, upon learning that one woman can make a baby in nine months, reasons that 9 women can make a baby in one month but as a cost saving measure only hires 0.7 women for 29 hours a month to avoid having to pay benefits
Reminded of the post-9/11 tech surge at airports, where billions were spent on unproven new technology. We could've also just hired more screeners and given them shorter shifts to be more alert, but that would actually involve treating people well.

The major problem of the left is being correct before everyone else.

It's not even a special skill, it's just using your knowledge to follow the most obvious thread to the most obvious outcome.

There is no secret, it's just basic logical exercise.
All the anti-war and anti-occupation protestors were right. All the far leftists were right. All the “woke scolds” and your friend who’s “too woke” were right. They were somehow even more right than they may have realized at the time. But really, it was always obvious they were right.
