Headlines translated: Britain's far-right media didn't like the budget. In an attempt to please them, the prime minister is going to punish the mentally ill.
Starmer eyes mental health welfare cuts after 'Benefits Street' Budget criticism
It comes after Reeves's Budget – which included £26bn in tax rises and a £16bn increase in welfare spending – went down as the most unpopular among voters since the days of Liz Truss

Hong Kong fire and Grenfell are just alike. Fire spreading through unsafe building materials installed due to penny-pinching, killing dozens. One difference: before the HK fire is even out three executives at contractors have been arrested, eight years after Grenfell no-one has been arrested.

This is the thing to hang onto - I’m glad people are appalled by Farage’s Nazi sympathies now, but the fact is, he was able to present TV programmes and constantly appear as a sofa guest for decades, booked by people who knew it all. We must reckon with that.
Evidence of Farage’s unabashed youthful racism has been in the public domain since at least 2013, yet somehow he has been allowed to remain part of the British political conversation. The fact he wasn’t driven back under a rock years ago has emboldened racists across the country to spread hatred.

While waiting for my session with my therapist today, a group of student therapists came into the waiting room as they often do. I couldn’t help overhear all of them discussing how much they were using ChatGPT for their studies. 😬

As we always (strongly) suspected, their so-called 'clinical trial' was never about creating a model of care that centers Trans+ people or gives them control over their own lives

It was always about generating the pre-determined evidence to justify banning Trans healthcare outright
Streeting is admitting that the Pathways “trial” already has a predetermined outcome. Stuffing it with SEGM placeholders is evidence of this.

The only way we are going to end state-mandated torture of trans kids is to get Labour out of government completely.

do you have any idea how much you have to piss somebody off to make them change their gauge
#Finland will begin to #Russia - proof its rail network, integrate with EU train infrastructure.

The Finnish government has announced the conversion of its rail network from Russian gauge (1,524 mm) to European standard (1,435 mm).
