Preface: I’m really glad DS9 is getting the love that I always knew it deserved.

Hot Take: DS9 fans that use the show to attack every other Star Trek series are fucking annoying, I’m saying this as someone who lived through TNG fans doing the exact same thing to DS9.
Since it’s my birthday week, do you think I could do a spicy hot take a treat? 👀🤔

There wasn’t a “war”, there was just people constantly fighting that their toys were better.

The thing that unifies the two together are fandoms that complain that the franchise has been destroyed by [insert person here] or [insert instalment here].
You ever think about just how handily Star Trek has won the Star Wars/Star Trek war? Turns out making a lot of good content is really hard!

The female characters in Harry Potter either end up being in service of men or antagonists, it kind of feels like a warning sign to how JKR would end up.

Hermione didn’t have any female friends, in fact I can’t think of any female characters that had female friends.

Even Hilary Cass - who disgracefully called parents terrified that their trans kids would take their own lives if they were denied healthcare "shroud wavers" - didn't go so far as to call for a ban on puberty blockers.

Nothing Wes Streeting says turns out to be true.

It’s always interesting when people use scientific accuracy as a critique for science fiction, because so many people will turn a blind eye to certain things but not others. Asimov preferring Star Wars over Galactica, when Star Wars has more fantasy elements and literal space magic.
Battlestar Galactica (1978)

SWA Magazine: The Vipers look like jets. Is this a realistic design for the future?

Isaac Asimov: "It is as if people in the 1880s were writing fantasy stories about airplanes of the future, and they had the pilots lean back at the wheel and yell 'Whoa,' and..."

For the love of fuck, just burn less fossil fuels and plant more trees.
A 25-person startup is developing technology to block the sun and turn down the planet’s thermostat.

The stakes are huge — and the company and its critics say regulations need to catch up.

The way this whole behaviour gives “the customer is always right” energy and I will say as someone who worked in retail for far too long, the customer is almost never right but they’re always absolutely certain they are.

The majority of them have no idea how game development works.
One of the producers on Guilty Gear Strive said it was basically impossible to source player feedback on balance changes online because nobody had original opinions and would just parrot what the most popular content creators said and so they had to rely on data and I think about that every day.

I tried the Digimon Story: Time Stranger demo tonight, it was really fun and I chose Gomamon for my starter.

I will probably grab the full game shortly, though Destiny 2: Renegades comes out soon and FFXIV Patch 7.4 coming out after that! 👀😮‍💨

10 years?!

I remember hearing about The Expanse novels before the show came out, people were talking about how good they were and I think I even bought the first book but didn’t get through it before the show started.

It’s such a good show!
‘THE EXPANSE’ premiered 10 years ago today - November 23, 2015.

The photos were stolen from European models & posts pushed pro-Trump lines while targeting Islam and LGBTQ people.

I’ll always love the Oberth 😌💖
After #StarTrekTNG's "The Naked Now"➡️, #StarTrekTNG's "The Drumhead"⬇️ re-introduces the Oberth class to the 24th century with a recurring shot of the USS Cochrane (NCC-59318). The class, which I am very fond of, was originally introduced in "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock"⬆️.

He would do a GREAT job of going around the country, being on TV all the time, and putting out Dem messaging on EVERY issue.

He would be an excellent counter-Leavitt. And we NEED one. He should be holding regular press conferences and putting
