the BBC should apologise with a montage of all the times Trump showed support for 6 Jan and they should get the person who does the end of World Cup montage to do it

I’m not even a Ramone’s fan by any noticeable metric, but just felt a tangible wave of second-hand rage when an AO Energy van drove past me and I saw it had “AO LET’S GO” printed up the side.

There’s something intensely comical about Farridge blowing large “BBC bias!”foghorn when historically it’s a broadcaster that has reliably platformed him for at least ten years.

@eelstheband.bsky.social Hey hey, hope you’re well? I have a question if you don’t mind, please? Are there plans to being ‘Broken Toy Shop’ back into the world? It’s missed.

As King of Telly I would like to direct escaped criminal Donald Trump to point the second.
My pledges as next DG:
• Shows where famous wankers glance at clips of old shows on iPads and say ‘that’s great, isn’t it’ punishable by death
• Every accusation of imbalance to be met by a statement from me, the Director General, as follows: ‘up your arse sideways’
• Job retitled King of Telly

I’ve said it before, she makes a killshot right between the eyes or she misses completely, no inbetweens
My theory about Joyce Carol Oates is that all her bad posts are her charging up like Godzilla's spines until she lets loose with a radioactive blast that leaves the world's richest Nazi a pile of ash

I still wonder to myself why on Earth Forbidden Planet just filled their shops with Funko Pops at the expense of all the stuff that made it such a time sink of a shop to visit.
If Funko goes down, Forbidden Planet goes down btw
Funko admits “substantial doubt” it can continue as a going concern amid crashing sales and mounting debt.

The Pop! maker warns of potential loan defaults without fresh funding or a buyout, after a 14% sales drop and $250M in obligations.

Funny that this comes up when I was only this morning looking at a nostalgia-filled thread from when Craig & I worked together in a indie CD/DVD chain in 2002-2007. Funny that we had a bit of an ‘us vs them’ vibe back then, and now the thought of HMV ever collapsing is horrific.
I think they’ve done an incredible job - opening shops again? Fopp still going? Amazing.

I helped open a chain in 2008(?) and I remember staff crying because “they never thought they’d work in a new record shop again” and that was way back then!

Another very pertinent fact that I have not seen mentioned ANYWHERE: In 14 years of Tory rule we had 14 Prisons Ministers - six in a single year, at one point - and a total of 11 Justice Secretaries, including Grayling, Raab, and Truss. In 13 years of Labour it was three: Irvine, Falconer, Straw. 🤔

As was pretty clear from the start, what began with "transphobia is a protected belief" will lead to it once again being considered okay, at least by some, to be openly racist in the workplace. We're rushing towards the opposite of every DEI initiative ever put in place by employers
This is how transphobia's right wing fuckery blew open basic respect in the UK, there is absolutely no reason to expect now that being "women critical" is not also a protected belief, if you truly do not believe that women should just be reproductive slaves for cis men.

This will be used to abuse.

There’s a faint sensation of frustration & annoyance in my head this morning, all thanks to a dream in which I was trying to fly to another country to perform a gig I’d been booked for and had forgotten my guitar on the first trip to the airport, then went back for it & returned without my passport.

Honestly the weirdest thing about America is that you are actively encouraged to self-ID as "pro life" and "Christian" while actively advocating for state-mandated murder.
Is anyone else finding America particularly terrifying right now? Here we have a “pro-life” Christian man calling for Stevie Nicks to be executed and pastors are preaching that the 19th amendment that allows women the vote should be repealed.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
