I love this so much. More of this. More politicians like Mamdani please. I would say “a woo woo woo” to that!
Child at the podium: “A woo woo woo.”

Mamdani: That’s how I felt when we came up with this plan. Together, we will expand the idea of what is possible in our city—and what sounds and noises we can make at a press conference.

Here here!
I think if regular folks are donating hundreds of dollars to mutual aid in the span of a few weeks, then landlords could maybe have a heart and not evict vulnerable families in this time of extraordinary crisis

Same. I find myself looking into every SUV going by to see if the driver is masked and in tactical gear. I don’t drive an SUV and never will but if I did I would be looking into trading it in for a small used hatchback or something.
The hyper vigilance. I feel it in my bones. Every blacked out SUV. Every idling SUV. An out of state plate. Mundane shit that is now suspicious. And I find myself actively upset at people who are in those vehicles (even though I fully recognize how irrational and unreasonable that is).
It’s so hard to describe what this is like to people who aren’t here. The ICE/BCP occupation seeps into everything. It’s not just the horror of the big stuff. It’s the little stuff, too: helicopters all night, vigilance during every trip out of the house, guilt at having any downtime at all.

Well this is pretty cool! Get thee some rebel bird swag and support our neighbors!
REBEL BIRD ALLIANCE ASSEMBLE! We're Midwest to the core, so Midwest-birds only from us. But other companies can take on out-of-region birds not pictured here. Each is raising money for immigration support groups in their respective community. #raygun www.raygunsite.com/collections/...

This is another thing I’m not sure gets as much attention outside of Minnesota: these (not always so mini) demonstrations pop up *everywhere.* I don’t think ive been out even once this month without seeing protesters on at least one busy intersection.

In Milwaukee staying at place downtown on alley. Was awoken in the wee morning hours by 4 rapids horn honks and was like “Oh no ICE is here!” But then after about twenty more such honk bursts over the next few hours realized it’s just cars announcing their approach to a blind corner. #ICEptsd

At a Milwaukee restaurant our server asks us how we are doing and we mention ICE. Somewhat shocked, we had to define it for her. She showed some recognition then but when asked if they are in Milwaukee and she said “I’m just a student. I wouldn’t know”. And we were like “Oh honey, YOU.WOULD.KNOW.”

Truth! 👇👇👇
Honestly the longer ICE stays here the more advantage we gain. They have to be gone by spring. If the bike whackos get a shot at patrol it’s OVER.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Border Patrol is pulling out of Minneapolis. Bovino is ending his punitive tour of blue cities. Calls for Noem's resignation are mounting, even in conservative media. Senate Democrats are dug in now on refusing to fund DHS and ICE. "Abolish ICE" is now a mainstream position.

They are losing.

I worked at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center for 22 years. I've walked this hall. So many good people in this building. This image, like so many this week, just breaks me.
