17/ This trip I tried in-room dining, as did several others in my car, but I think I will do the dining car on the way back. It’s more work for the car attendant to bring you your food. I tip them $5 each meal and do the same in the dining car.

9/ The Central Loop hotel is only about a half mile from Millennial Park so I even got a decent walk in before checking out. This Central Loop hotel has the added advantage of a 12:00pm checkout.

7/ I chose the cheapest hotel within safe & easy walking distance of the station. This leg of my trip that was the Central Loop hotel, which is a 0.4 mile walk from Union Station.

5/ One of the things I worried a little about is whether I could heft my bag into the overhead storage in coach on the Borealis. Thankfully I was able to store it in the shelving as you board the train instead.
