Tonight, the Department of Homeland Security announced that on Tuesday they detained 14 of our neighbors on immigration charges. What they initially reported as a targeted criminal enforcement action was in fact an identity-based raid on people who had done nothing but show up for work that day.

We had an excellent turnout to remember Amber and to use our voices to demand change. Notably, while folks were speaking out about the dangers of St. Anthony, we watched so many cars roll through and run the stop sign where Amber was hit, with 4 or 5 news cameras and 75+ people watching.

I plan to engage in guerrilla traffic calming. I already have 2 speed bumps that I put out on Herschel when the kids are out playing. They’re real effective. We are so tired of this shit. If the city won’t do anything, the neighborhood will.
A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run in my neighborhood today by someone in a black SUV flying down St. Anthony Avenue near the Aldine pedestrian bridge.
Neighbors have been pleading with the city for *years* to do something about people speeding and blowing stop signs on St Anthony.
