If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

The frustrating thing about Bluesky's misgendering problem is that in the real world, I don't really care what pronouns people use for me, but on here the only time I ever get she/her'd or called a woman is when people are intentionally being assholes. It's starting to make me hate those pronouns.
I've gone through gamergaters, comicsgaters, terfs, and the worst of the alt-right getting mad at me on Twitter and in all of my years on there I was never misgendered as much as on this site. It's a real problem with Bluesky culture that needs to become socially unacceptable.
The fact this site reflexively misgenders people (I’ve received this too) for having opinions it doesn’t like is one of its most truly appalling aspects

When I worked at a bookstore, I quickly learned that people cannot tell the difference between Xmas music and any Baroque or Elizabethan music album that doesn't get too organ-ish. I used this to my advantage.

One customer caught on... AND THANKED ME
If we had to hear “Baby Shark” everywhere we went for two whole months out of the year we’d throw a fit, right?

And rightfully so.

So tell me, why do we put up with it when the song is “Frosty the Snowman”?

Important update: I have received word from insiders that Crunchyroll executives have deemed the user backlash to be small enough that their subtitle enshittification & OOONA plans will NOT be cancelled, only delayed.

I have added an update to the article. There's a summary at the top now too.
New article on ★ daiz.moe

A ton of research and effort went into this one. This is the article to read to get to the bottom of Crunchyroll's subtitle changes!
