He wished it were so simple as physically breaking down the door, but with years of abuse separating them, the physical barrier was the least of his problems. He knocked softly. "Louis.. he called out quietly. "Please leave me alone," came the tiny, muffled reply. "You don't have to open the door," William assured him. "In fact...please don't. I don't know that I'm ready for that either." William took a deep breath, willing his voice to steady. "I owe you so many apologies, Louis. More than you even know. And you deserve to hear them from me face to face, but until you are comfortable with that please let me assure you that I will never hurt you again. I swear it. I won't even come near you unless you allow it. If.." William's voice finally broke, "If I break my word, you may do with me what you will-my life will be utterly forfeit to you." In truth, his life was forfeit either way, being unable to raise a hand against either of his brothers. If that day arrived, he truly had no means of defense. Silence stretched for what felt like hours until William hung his head, convinced that Louis had simply ignored him. When finally.. "Okay," Louis answered, voice quiet but so close that it sounded like he was just on the other side of the door. William leaned his head against the wood and closed his eyes. "Are you still there?" Louis asked. "Yes." "Why?" William bit his lip. He had said what he wanted and ought to leave. To try again tomorrow. To not press too hard. But his heart ached to hug his brother, and if he could not have that... "May I recite you a story?" William asked. "...a story?" It was a ridiculous request, a remnant of a time when it had been just them against the world in a past they no longer shared. When Louis had fallen asleep every night to the sound of William voicing the characters. When he had read the plays so many times they were imprinted on his heart. "I didn't know you knew any stories." The original William hadn't. But this was no longer his story. And the Lord of Crime had always been a storyteller. William smiled. "Scene One. The Sea-coast. Enter Viola, Roberto, and two sailors. He woke to a pointy shoe prodding his shoulder and an exasperated sigh he knew all too well. "Is this some new intimidation tactic?" William opened his eyes blearily from where he had slumped against the door. "Albert??" he asked sleepily. "Honestly. This is a new low, even for you," Albert said, reaching over him to knock on the door. "Louis! It's okay now. I saved you some breakfast." William sat up as Louis cracked the door open and eyed him warily. And William stared back, unable to accept that this was his new reality.

"help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

"I can only assume the related death you refer to would be that of a young woman who jumped off the same bridge some two weeks prior. I have...I'll admit, probably more information than most about that situation as it involved one of my students." How much information was too much? William wondered. From here, the conversation would be walking a tightrope. While Lucien claimed to remember very little about that night, memories were precarious. It was entirely possible that he might begin to remember more. Of all the cold cases Sherlock had to take an interest in... "But it has been almost six months since both of those tragedies," William continued. "Even if there was foul play, surely the trail would have gone cold by now." Sherlock took a long drag on his cigarette, considering. "Perhaps. But there was a survivor."

Nazogaku is a weird and wonderful underground convention for experimental puzzle games, and I was so glad to be allowed an insight into this side of the nazo community! This framing that it was Jackson doing it is not how they normally put stuff like this. They’re trying to lie to you with the truth. It was a legal maneuver designed to minimize the delay and held until as late as possible to give time for states to irreversibly process the payments.

Katrina participated in teleportation only once before in her life. It happened back in Vigor and involved a dangerous mission suspected to be a trap set by Armand Tyrell’s people. One of her companions was a mage of some skill, and he had the spell prepared in case they needed to make a sudden escape. Long story short: they did, and she never wanted to do it again. When she—along with Leeroy, Celeste, and Jeremiah Escudo—teleported to escape SPOILER, the experience was worse than she remembered. They were engulfed in searing light until she saw nothing but blinding glare, and an ear-splitting screech rang in her ears. She didn’t know if it was the same for the others, but Katrina then felt as though she was torn apart bit by bit. Her consciousness remained aware of hurling across time and space. There was a sense of speed and movement, but detached like she watched the whole thing from outside her body. There was also a frightening fragility to it—as if she might be lost in the void and trapped forever in nothingness. She wanted to scream, but no sound would come.
