Senior CM at Mojang by day, otome/RPG/metal fangirl by night. Personal account, and all opinions/tweets can be blamed only on me. She/her.
Yeah, I unironically still enjoy this album! I'm too old for shame.

(...mostly because Hybrid Theory technically released in 2000, even if 2001 is when it took off)

@govpritzker.illinois.gov I want you to watch this video of me slammed to the ground- why are you allowing this to happen to people you know are on the right side of history. They tied my hands behind my back and when I asked them to be loosened because I was going numb they said, “STFU.”
at one point, i watched a cook county sheriff’s officer (who appears to be in charge) point out a priest in the crowd.

he and a couple officers then went into the crowd , dragged him into the street, and arrested him.

situation is still tense as crowd jostles with police to get into the street.

5/🧵 Race divides the Democratic Party more than it does Republicans. Young Republicans remain almost as racially resentful as older Republicans. But among Democrats and independents, massive shifts. White Gen Z independents have lower racial resentment than Boomer Democrats.

From this minister's op-ed: "People wanting to experience God are more likely to meet the Divine trying to shut down the Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility than we ever were in church...God does not live in our houses of worship, but...with those who are bearing the brunt of cruelty in this moment."

Having shipped numerous MMOs over the course of the years, let me tell you that having and using the ‘fascistic’ power of moderation is crucial unless you want to have a 4chan style den of nazis and child porn instead of a viable business.
It's not linguistic loopholes. It's that power is inherently fascistic. It's impossible to be an admin of anything from a major social media platform to a tiny MUD and not turn into a enormous butt-hurt wimp. It's impossible to have the power to delete without using it.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

And by caving, i.e. by folding in exchange for nothing meaningful on healthcare, the suffering was done for nothing? The deaths weren't avoided...

I don't think the administrative stay from Justice Jackson was a sign to surrender, quite the opposite. It was smart, strategic, harm reduction 🧵

A bunch of suffering was endured by folks who are all much poorer than any US Senator, in the name of avoiding all those needless health care deaths. Folks were struggling to pay bills, buy food, take care of their families.

Trump / MAGA were correctly getting the blame from the public 🧵

Framing injustice as something one should care about because of how it will impact them unjustly kindof skirts the whole concept of justice, which is to say nothing of empathy. If their investment in stopping injustice is rooted in selfishness, it will eventually reach a limit and accept injustice.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
