I'm actually reading The Inquisition in Hollywood rn and the Hollywood 19 (before they were whittled down to the 10) did actually decide that attacking HUAC's existence was a losing strategy and instead decided to go with a 1st Amendment defense.
thinking about the last grasps of people still going on about how abolish ICE isn't realistic or a bad slogan and picturing these guys in the 50s going "well we obviously just can't get RID of HUAC and it's bad messaging to say that's what you want"

the video is out, there is no reason to not send local law enforcement to arrest the ice agent in question and yes i know they will refuse to hand them over and you treat that exactly how you would treat it under any other similar circumstance
