Not to toot my own horn, but I’ve been at one of the largest political/electoral entities in MN for almost two decades during which we’ve literally never lost and I promise you that random internet pundits talking electoral impacts here in this moment can be ignored.

getting some of this in my mentions, and the sentiment rocks. but the best thing to do if you don’t live here is build community and networks this strong and caring wherever you are. we can have a whole country of cities with this kind of strength and care if we build them!
No lie: Shit like this makes me want to move to Minneapolis like yesterday just so I can join in.

The concerted non-violent resistance from the Twin Cities right now is astonishing. They are the America and Americans that makes my heart swell with pride.
it is -10 here today. I was supposed to go do a volunteer shift standing outside loading groceries into people’s cars to deliver to families stuck at home. just got a call not to come in because they have too many volunteers already. if you were wondering if the cold would stop us.

I will admit the high price of groceries is really hitting me right now because I’M BUYING GROCERIES TO DELIVER TO MY NEIGHBORS WHO CAN’T LEAVE THE HOUSE BECAUSE THE PRESIDENT HAS SENT AN OCCUPYING FORCE OF FUCKSTICKS TO MY CITY.
NEW: In this interview, Chuck Schumer describes the "five buckets" Dems think are key to their possibly winning a Senate majority in 2026: housing, "the high price of food [and] food monopolies playing a major role there," electricity, "the high cost of childcare," and health care.
Zero Chucks Left to Give
Chuck Schumer now sees a path back to the majority. Can he manage his way through it?

also, please, for the love of God, stop talking about what you would do and start preparing for what you will do when it does come to your city. this isn’t hypothetical! do the work! you’ll be glad you did!
All these other cities are like “we’d do x, y, and z to ICE, we’d be way more badass than Minneapolis” and as a Minneapolitan I have to tell you this is a weird fucking thing to be competitive about, it is an absolute hell and a really bleak thing to be fantasy role playing.

i was talking with someone in the twin cities about how it’s not even accurate to call them protesters. they’re literally just people protecting their city from TERRORISTS.
Every time the Trump regime uses the words "funded protesters" and "outside agitators" news outlets need to cut to this photo from last week.

ICE has invaded these communities. Outside agitators don't show up in their fucking bathrobes.

it is a pleasure to count Jason as a friend. he captures what is happening here and its importance well. he also continues his reign as the king of the kicker, be sure not to miss that.

Critical support to Comrade Stancil. Everyone in the Twin Cities is doing their part. I don’t think I know of a single person here who is not actively, in some way, viably or invisibly, trying to protect our neighbors from being disappeared by lawless armed masked federal goons.
I don’t have time nor inclination to think much about this right now but in the last 12 hours or so a ton of people in the left of this site have suddenly been attacking me, including with carefully edited screenshots of old tweets, and I’m pretty confused what’s happening.

Every single person giving an interview on Fox9 right now is just incredible? While teargas wafts in the background “I came out here to witness. To say with one loud voice that this is not okay…”

If you live outside of the Twin Cities but have friends or loved ones there, the best way you can help right now is to just be there for them, show them love, do nice things for them. Everyone here is showing up and turning out. But nobody here is ok right now.

People who aren't in Minnesota might not know that if you drive or walk past pretty much any school, there's going to be a group of people, parents and childless, standing guard to make sure the kids are safe from feds. It's pretty remarkable. And very disturbing. www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

It's absolutely insane that there are thousands of parents in Minnesota standing in front of their kids schools who have to worry about getting killed by their own government because they want to protect their kids' classmates, teachers, and fellow parents.

My anger at having to stand outside my kid’s school for two hours to ensure none of their classmates, parents, or teachers get kidnapped by my own government is only slightly tempered by the amazing outpouring of support from other parents and especially neighbors who stand against this bullshit.

a few months ago, I wrote something about ICE entering daycares in Chicago. today, several of my friends had ICE show up at their children’s daycares here in Minnesota.

free advice: basically zero universe in which “we were enthusiastic participants in a live show put on by a newly revamped right wing news show during an ICE occupation of the city we run” is a decision you’re gonna feel good about in 5 years. www.startribune.com/new-cbs-news...

one takeaway from the grok noncon porn thing is that much of the media just isn't interested in an issue they can't pretend has two sides or that doesn't give them an opportunity to shit on the left. Also it would be uncomfortable to justify remaining on twitter after acknowledging it
