Sure. "The Grand Jury did not see the operative indictment" is the kind of fuckup where lawyers literally don't actually know what happens next because it SO fundamental a thing that it is LITERALLY possible nobody had even thought of this as a thing that could happen.

As someone who has devoted a lot of my life to direct action, I feel qualified to make this distinction.

Attempts to thwart ICE are absolutely acts of protest—they are actions with a material objective that make a coherent political statement, which sets them apart from many protests, I know. But they are acts of protest, plain and simple.

Just responding to the fact that some good people continue to describe some interventions in Chicago as not being protests.

Periodic reminder that direct action is a fundamental form of protest.

It is the original form of protest.

To refuse to accept the status quo, to intervene in an effort to shift power from the oppressor to the oppressed is protest.

New: Reuters has tallied job losses, suspensions and investigations stemming from the reaction to Charlie Kirk's Sept. 10 assassination. Its findings: More than 600 Americans have been punished, and the figure is likely to be an under-count.

This is how rape culture and a patriarchy works. The loudest, most extroverted men get deference from the ones who prefer to avoid conflict and want to stay in the good graces of the bully. And the consequence is whatever the bullies want to do to women, it’s allowed through complicit silence.

Are men problematic yes

But intersectional analysis applies to oppression and suppression

This is a really important thread and I don't think enough men understand how pervasive this is in our culture.
I hope men understand that it is very very rare for anyone who is not a woman’s lover, close friend, or relative to stand up for her when another man insults her in a room of other men. It is incredibly unusual. They may not join in the bullying, but they’re unwilling to step in to stop it.

I cannot overemphasize that Marjorie Taylor Greene, Carlson, and Fuentes see a 2028 path to victory that involves building an isolationist populist coalition that traffics heavily in antisemitism and exploits existing negative sentiment against Israel.

We have to be SHARP on the left right now.

If you want to learn more about John Brown, the American abolitionist, here's a really good TV series to watch. I still find what John Brown did to be quite exceptional, especially for his time. A man who understood that yes, violence is how you fight fascist oppression. A true ally to Black folks.

Congrats, now you know how women feel about men who harass and assault them all the time. We walk around feeling like this.

Welcome to being a woman.
Why do journalists have no apparent solidarity whatsoever? This rancid POS jabs his finger in a woman reporter's face and calls her "piggy" and none of the other journalists there says a word?
When asked if there was anything "incriminating" in Epstein's emails, Trump pointed a finger in a female reporter's face and snapped. 'Quiet. Quiet, Piggy.'
