the country cannot function as a real democracy with corrupt, partisan serial liars controlling the Supreme Court; it has to be the first priority of a new administration.

Government officials do not get to decide that your rights have become inconvenient or problematic. They are your rights. They are not privileges provided by the government and revocable at will.

This is censorship from an authoritarian regime that wants to project the illusion that they face no internal opposition or dissent. No other way to describe it.
What the actual fuck.

There can’t be any gun restrictions because we have to protect against federal government tyranny, and if kids get shot we just have to live with it. Also the President can send troops to cities because the federal government can do whatever it wants. These two ideas are consistent and reasonable.

Trump: People were taken out of the spa, hired by Epstein… I told him we don’t want you taking our people, whether it’s spa or not spa. He did it again, I said out of here.

Reporter: Was one of the stolen people Virginia Giuffre?

Trump: I think so. He stole her.

Trump, Miller, Noem et al are disappearing innocent people to a concentration camp to be tortured. They know this is what they're doing. Everyone who has touched this policy belongs in prison.
Those held at CECOT were forced to sleep on cold metal benches (mattresses were brought in for photo ops) and given a single water bucket for washing and drinking.

If anyone was seen washing themselves not at 4:00 AM, they were taken into a cell, tied to a chair, and beaten.

Law is fake, power is real.
Since April 4, #SCOTUS has issued 15 rulings on 17 emergency applications filed by Trump (three birthright citizenship apps were consolidated).

It has granted relief to Trump ... in all 15 rulings.

It has written majority opinions in only 3.

Today's order is the 7th with no explanation *at all.*
Here we go again: Over an acerbic dissenting opinion by Justice Sotomayor (joined in full by Justices Kagan and Jackson), #SCOTUS, with no explanation, grants a stay in the Department of Education RIFs case—effectively clearing the way for the Trump administration to dismantle much of the agency:

we got some of the very worst bits out but the core of the bill remains: gutting medicaid, supercharging ICE

this is a disaster and a good reminder that there are no good republicans - murkowski betrayed us all, collins would have voted yes if murk hadn't saved her, paul wanted it to be worse
The Senate has officially passed the MAGA murder budget 51-50. Collins, Tillis, Paul join Dems on the no side.

This now goes back to the House, where the HFC is as usual making ugly noises. Rules Committee will meet this afternoon, which will give us an early look at what (if anything( they mean.
Quick stakes reminder: with the exception of the health insurance losses being kept at 16-17 million and the gender-affirming care ban being dropped, this is all still true.

We call it the MAGA Murder Budget because it's gonna kill jobs, industries, freedom, and a lot of people.

Final vote. 50-50. VP breaks the tie.

One single GOP Senator could have stopped this abomination. Saved millions of parents from watching their child go hungry. Saved the lives destroyed when Medicaid disappears.

They will all live forever with the horror of this bill.
