There is no greater single imperative right now than removing Donald J. Trump as President of the United States. He is the clearest, most immediate, and most powerful danger to our biosphere, our health, our welfare, our safety, our privacy, our lives, and our freedom in the world today.
I really think CIVIL WAR is going to turn out to be just as prescient as CHILDREN OF MEN, unfortunately.

If you’re a billionaire then at least do eccentric shit like renting a cathedral, placing a bed on the altar,and spending the night as a full choir of nuns sings you to sleep. Like make an unfathomably large donation to the diocesan charities for the privilege.

You know, maybe I’m too hard on myself. I’m a great father, a skilled teacher, and a good son. I have maintained two close, life long friendships. I’m generally liked by the school community, and socialize with many of my peers. It’s okay to not want a long term relationship in your life.

I’m too big a fan of too many Orpheus operas to think that we shouldn’t reuse the character or retell his stories. And that goes for Don Juan, Figaro… or Luke Skywalker.

People who are scared of big cities have it backward. The closer you are to your neighbors the better you are at seeing them as human. The people who are scared of “random shootings” in the cities are also sniping lost teens in their driveways in the exurbs.
Still thinking about this story. Imagine how cooked your brain has to be on Fox News -- how terrified you have to be, every day in your isolated suburban castle -- to start *shooting* when you see brown people at your door, before the door is even open. We're such a nation of terrified cowards.
