Fuck this poor excuse for a civilisation.
If you have been selected for conference by sortition -

Do not book trains

Do not book hotels

Do not spend your own money until conference is confirmed - by the VENUE, NOT YP

You stand to lose significant amounts of money.
How do you plan to run a conference at the Liverpool Arena (still not showing on the Liverpool ACC website btw) with no money, you fools?

Ending salary sacrifice for pensions will simply more deeply entrench existing wealth inequality. Absolutely dire situation for gen x'ers currently trying to pay off mortgages, support kids through uni and care for elderly parents. And all because Labour refuses to tax billionaires.

I’ve never noticed John being reticent about criticising the public for views he thinks are wrong, but there’s a particular section of the public who basically can’t be wrong about certain topics and it seems that saying they are, is childish student politics.

Do you not think it's bizarre to have strangers on the internet decide they know better than Brianna's own loved ones on what is or isn't insulting to her memory?

I've got no time for Rosie Duffield, but she turned up at a drop-in event in Parliament and that's been the limit of her involvement.

Wood Mackenzie confirms new natural gas generation is expensive!

$126/MWh in 2030!

New solar plus batteries are less than half the cost of new gas!

New nuclear ($139/MWh) also is getting close to being cheaper than new gas!

Gas too is dirty, biggest CO2 electricity polluter. #energysky

Zarah says she has no idea if she's attending Your Party conference or not.

👍👍
The Road to Conference: In Conversation with Zarah Sultana
As we approach the founding conference, one question is on everyone’s mind: What kind of party are we building? Join Democratic Socialists for the first in our “In Conversation With…” series, featuring Zarah Sultana MP, to discuss how we can make the new party a truly member-led, democratic, and socialist organisation: from the constitution to the conference floor. We’ll be exploring shared priorities such as a sovereign conference, delegate democracy, real local autonomy, and a collective leadership accountable to members, alongside the broader vision for how this new formation can unite the left and give voice to working-class people. This will be a space for constructive discussion, reflection, and political clarity — a chance to shape the conversation before the founding conference and to strengthen the democratic movement that’s emerging around Your Party. First, three speakers from the Democratic Socialists will cover different aspects of our proposals and vision: - Max S will present our case for a party republic, not a party dictatorship - Chloe B will go through our newly-ratified proposed Political Statement, including our ten key demands for a socialist republic - Ewan T will explain our major amendments to the YP founding documents, including what’s in them and our justification After contributions from these speakers, Zarah Sultana will present her own proposals, clarifying where they align with ours as well as where there are differences. Following that, we’ll open up for questions and discussion from attendees. After the main event and a short break, we’ll move on to the Lock-In with DSYP - a more casual, discussion-oriented session where you can get to know DSYP a little better. We hope to see you on Sunday! Whilst the tickets are free, we would greatly appreciated a donation to our Chuffed to help cover our organisational expense: https://chuffed.org/project/152276-democratic-socialists-yp

I think that Zarah has put herself in a very, very, very tricky position here.

I have lost significant amounts of sleep over much smaller liabilities than this.
As sole director of MoU now, Zarah Sultana now faces the same issues the MoU directors had - that the company has a ton of cash, but lots of legal hurdles.

The cash was from members who *thought* they were joining Your Party, but as it was unofficial...kind of weren't. Big liabilities for Sultana.
November 10, 2025 at 4:13 PM
No wonder Instagram is full of people commenting "please process my refund" "please just let me quit" etc.
Another big issue: money from Sultana's launch went into the bank account of MoU via the payment provider of Corbyn's Peace and Justice Project.

So Peace and Justice Project hold the actual personal data relating to who gave the donations.

MoU couldn't give direct refunds even if they wanted to.

And in particular - how that money is made available in the next three weeks to book Liverpool ACC, sort out catering, incidental costs for a conference.

Looks dead in the water to me.
In sum, and no surprises here: It's a mess, for lots of reasons: some previously known, some outlined above.

There are big questions for YP about how it gets on a firm organisational footing from such a rocky start, and with legal issues and liabilities re. data and donations still looming over it.
