If you go to settings, then accessibility, you can turn a setting on that won’t allow you to post without adding alt text.! It absolutely helped me get in the habit.
Here’s the thing about alt text: it helps everyone! Sometimes, I don’t know what is in a photo without it.

Plus, it’s fun!

I won’t share anything without it. Most people here do the same.

In response to federal agents on a lawless rampage through the Twin Cities area, the Edina, City Council reaffirmed their support for the universal declaration of human rights, which right now is a radical anarchist, domestic terrorist kind of thing to do.

It cannot be made clearer.

If you continue to support the Harry Potter franchise in any way, you are directly funding the removal of trans people's human rights in the UK.

I flew down to south Texas today to do my job - investigate why people are dying in ICE detention centers.

I was just illegally denied entry to Dilley Detention Center. Because they have something to hide.

I think people underestimate how big this is. Like a city-wide strike is not something that has happened in the US for nearly 100 years
there are a bunch of big names on this list, including multiple beard award winners, and some places i never would have guessed in a hundred years (the malt shop?!) and i'm genuinely floored and delighted to see so many participants

Rare good news about Dems not only doing their fucking jobs, but standing up for trans rights. More of this please, elected Dems.
1. In a major victory, Democrats have managed to get all anti-trans riders stripped from the final appropriations bills.

This includes HHS and Ed, which had the worst provisions in congressional history.

If it passes, it will be a big win for 2026.

The HHS and Education bills once contained the most sweeping anti-trans provisions in congressional history. Now they contain none.

We are watching one of the wildest things a nation-state has ever done: A superpower is committing suicide because the GOP Congress is too cowardly to stand up to the Mad King.

This is one of the wildest moments in all of geopolitics ever.

Mr. Rogers said "look for the helpers," we all know this, but I would push that further - ALMOST EVERYONE wants to be a helper. People with training and/or proximity show up, and people sitting at home feel helpless wondering what they can do. In our experience, most people just need to know how.

I’m not sure people outside the Twin Cites realize the prevalence and the fear ICE is causing in Twin Cities. They are dining undercover pretending to be couples at restaurants, they are going to businesses and checking the license plates of cars to find employees. Every public place is compromised.

On the one hand, yes, it is notable that all the gun nuts who said they had to have fully automatic weapons in their basement to resist the federal government "if and when" have not decided that this is, indeed, "if and when." On the other hand, I'm super happy they aren't shooting up the place.
