200 g. whole wheat, 300 g. all purpose white, 130 g. sourdough starter. Good rise, but too hot to cut and cheek the crumb. #breadsky

I admire the papier mache extremely.

It was a lovely day in St. Paul.

Have book covers gotten better? Because I really hate this, but the book covers of the 1970s might have been uniquely awful and misleading. Behold, my most vivid example:https://i.pinimg.com/originals/97/21/11/972111800be5a3f2a93bd27966da3eed.jpg

For the record, even though I swatched, the thing is _huge_. 9 feet deep and a wing-span of 12 feet. Here's a picture of me wearing it at Minnehaha Falls. (I had intended to throw the shawl a party when I finished it, but COVID made that impossible, so I did a photo shoot instead.)

So, I get that this is basically all politics all the time, right now, but I still feel the need to brag that I got a Blue Ribbon at the Minnesota State Fair for this! It is the Princess Shawl, pattern by Sharon Miller, and it took me three years to finish.
