Okay, one more fun bit: when Zohran was handed the leather ledger that he needed to sign to make his swearing-in official, it was handed to him by Ali Najmi. Ali’s 2015 city council campaign was Zohran’s formal introduction to city politics, when he began by knocking doors for Ali. The part I love…

When you get the reputation of being the guy with the encouraging words on New Year's Eve, it can start to come through as a little pressure -- what if the situation on the ground is worse than usual? what if people are more scared than they usually are, and with cause? what use are good vibes then?

Before fireworks, check the weather!

If you're in a burn ban or an elevated risk area, especially if there are red flag warnings -- stop!

Check the dewpoint temperature: If it's less than 60ºF then vegetation is likely very dry.

Protect your neighbors. Don't burn down their homes.

Last special election of the year.

This is a D+17 seat according to @the-downballot.com.

The Democrat just won by 43 points.

That’s a 26 point overperformance.

Small, twisted knot of a thought. I don't know the bigger thoughts associated with it.

I mask because I don't to get sick, sure. I don't want to become any more disabled than I am.

But the biggest reason is because I don't want to be part of a chain of transmission. I don't want to hurt anyone.

The flu vaccine doesn't always prevent infection, but it reduces severity.
This is the second pediatric #flu death I've seen in 2 days. I'm so sorry for the pain their families must feel. Unclear if either was vaccinated but odds are they were not, as most such deaths are in unvaccinated children.

If you haven’t been masking up lately, now would be a great time to restart.

I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."
