You know you've been working at the same place too long when someone asks you about something that happened in 2011 and you actually have an informative and factual answer.

(Technically it's something that happened *the month* I joined the company so I wasn't really there for it, but still...)

Labour keeps talking about saving the high street without naming the real problem. Car dependency. You cannot fix town centres while planning everything around driving. The internet is permanent. Retail only survives where footfall is dense, local, frequent, and cheap to access.
Labour risks election wipeout unless it improves Britain’s high streets, study finds
Decay of town centres a top issue among voters especially Reform UK supporters and is fuelling resentment against Westminster

These arrived yesterday. Despite checking the model in the documentation and researching online, either they do not fit, or I am incapable of making them fit.

Does anyone want to come round and have a go?😞
Just got a dispatch email for the treat* I bought myself this weekend.

Thing is right, AI has been around for years in various forms and is used effectively for certain jobs in certain places and sectors.

Bullshit LLM AI which everyone keeps forcing onto people is not a fucking vital requirement in general life and should stop being paraded around as such. Fuck off.
BREAKING: Free AI training will be offered to every adult in the UK, with short courses to teach people how to use simple AI tools effectively in the workplace.

This would be incredible. When I was trying to buy I blanket excluded anything on a leasehold EXCEPT for what I did eventually purchase - a flat with a Tyneside lease, with a peppercorn ground rent. Eternally grateful that I was in a position to do that AND wanted to buy in Newcastle.
