If someone sues me for saying something on the internet that hurts their feefees, even though it's true, my insurance company will pay @hipcrimevocab.net and @goobermunch.bsky.social to make them regret this fact! It's especially important for me, because my state has a terrible anti-SLAPP law.

Reposting out of a response thread to remind US people: if you make people mad on the internet, it is a VERY worthwhile investment to add an umbrella policy to your homeowners' or renters' insurance. I recommend a $2m per incident minimum; we increased ours to $5m recently just in case.
This is part of why I *strongly* recommend anyone who makes assholes on the internet mad a lot should have a umbrella liability policy added to their homeowners' or renters' insurance, with a minimum coverage of $2m per incident, although we just increased ours to $5m just in case.

I did not understand this: one of the five Europeans the US has barred from traveling to the United States...is a permanent resident who lives with his family in the US.

Now he is worried about being arrested and deported for the crime of monitoring online hate.

Well, what does that mean? Let's look at other stories, here's the BBC:

"We had folks from Europe detained, we had folks from China, we had folks from Latin [American] countries, we had folks from literally everywhere, and they all need advocating for."

can confirm, this is *exactly* how it works.

and then for canadian mechanical fabrication it seems to be "whichever the bolts you're using and your machines are in, and you're probably still going to have at least *one* set of conversions.
The only true way is the Canadian way

As a Jew, it’s fun watching the administration post Christian nationalist messages while also saying they are doing everything they can to curb antisemitism.
Here’s the U.S. government being officially religious in a country with no official religion.

Jesse fucking Singal asked me for comment before doing a podcast episode about events relating to me and Kiwi Farms.

(I referred him to my legal counsel, as one does, and he read out on air what @hipcrimevocab.net had sent him)

Look, the bar is pretty damn low and Bari Weiss falls way short.
In 2021, Bari Weiss famously published a resignation letter by former Smith College librarian Jodi Shaw.

Shortly after, I asked Smith if Weiss had reached out for comment first.

“She did not,” spokesperson Stacey Schmeidel said via email.

Weiss’ agents declined my requests for comment.

New from me: The storied fiddler Ashley MacIsaac wanted to play a show at a Nova Scotia First Nation. It got cancelled because Google's AI search summary incorrectly called him a sex offender. Now he's worried for his safety www.theglobeandmail.com/culture/arti...

NEW: Riley Gaines, the former collegiate swimmer turned right-wing media figure, made $474,313 last year from the conservative nonprofit org, the Leadership Institute. More striking than her total comp was the way it was structured.

So I have the cover story in next month's TNR.

I interviewed the heads of police groups; immigration defense attorneys, ex-judges and ex-prosecutors; former DOJ and DHS officials, and the former head of Border Patrol.

They're all horrified at what we've seen, and they all fear what's coming.

The law Trump used to federalize the National Guard requires him to be "unable with the regular forces to execute the laws of the United States."

The Court today agrees with Professor Lederman that "regular forces" means the U.S. military, which used to be called "the regulars."

the least shocking thing in the epstein files that wont get enough attention. police regularly arrest and charge victims to coerce them into participating, often jailing them in conditions that are worse.
jesus the Palm Beach Police really sought arrest warrants against underage Epstein victims for coming forward and cooperating, and (purported) admitting to crimes, and it caused the victims to become uncooperative with the federal investigation

It is legitimately shocking that a company's $1.6 trillion valuation is based on 5 cars in Austin, Texas and an unlawful marketing scheme.

Tesla can be summarized as illegal marketing and illegal market manipulation to meet milestones for an illegal executive compensation plan. That's it.
