The ultimate test of our country and democracy will not be voting or elections but whether we put all of these people behind bars or not.

No blue wave or whatever will matter if we once again give impunity to these criminals and murderers.

This piece by @sramach.bsky.social and @cbo.bsky.social does address Watson's real legacy.

NEW: We’ve uncovered the first known example of taxpayer money flowing from DHS to businesses controlled by Kristi Noem’s allies and friends.

It’s part of a money trail that’s been shrouded in secrecy—and involves $220 million, a mysterious Delaware LLC & a horse named Gill.

Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

Had a blast talking about #sturgeon with Dr. Drew Holloway's ichthyology class @ballstate.bsky.social this afternoon! I'm grateful my AFS involvement @amfisheriessoc.bsky.social connected me with Drew at a past Midwest Fish & Wildlife Conference. His students asked great Q's about larval drift! 🐟

US science is under assault like never before, but in response the scientific community can build an alliance for independent science--that can fill gaps left by the decimation of Federal science and reimagine the role of science in policy and society. 🧵 blog.ucs.org/genna-reed/u...

People are in denial about how quickly they could become disabled, unhoused or food insecure

It can happen to anyone & it can happen in an instant

Folks act like those receiving assistance have failed

That they should “try harder”

The system is rigged. It’s failed us, not the other way around

Hats off to the Wikipedia editor(s)/author(s) who went all out on this article about the extinct Stellar’s Sea Cow, did not expect nearly this much detail.

Never thought to ask which extant animal had the most similar poop (horses) or how long the sea cows’ penis was (very long).

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

Shut us down for good reason.

Open back up without any of those reasons having been fixed.

You want us to have confidence in you?

You want us to think YOU can lead US?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to have a chance to be back.. but our pain produced nothing in return.

Some people will retreat farther into pinning their hopes on elections only. We need them for a broad sense, but we cannot be bound by their demands. The regime will not be voted out. Nor will one large protest every three months. They have uses, but they cannot be the only major point.

“Abolish ice” at this point is the conservative position.

Everyone involved in the administration at any level is going to have to be tried for crimes against humanity and dealt with accordingly.

This isn’t going away with elections and we certainly cannot “come together” after this.

The farmer who rents some of my family's land just found three headless buck carcasses cut at the shoulder mount 5 yards across our fenceline into their field. The game warden has been notified. Wanton waste in a time of SNAP cuts and sky-high meat prices is unforgivable. I didn't draw a 2025 tag. 🤬
