Had a blast talking about #sturgeon with Dr. Drew Holloway's ichthyology class @ballstate.bsky.social this afternoon! I'm grateful my AFS involvement @amfisheriessoc.bsky.social connected me with Drew at a past Midwest Fish & Wildlife Conference. His students asked great Q's about larval drift! 🐟

Phenological dispatch: my quilting ruler reads 4" today after our first snow of the year here in Lyons, South Dakota.

Here's another one of my original poems, "Dignity," written for any fellow queer South Dakotans or Glen Campbell fans out there. Is it cringe? Absolutely. Do I care? Not in the slightest. 🏳️‍🌈

Facts. This was my Halloween costume this year. I had to stand at the outskirts of my friends' party until I took it off because I kept crashing into things around the kitchen and couldn't make sharp turns. 😅

Ack, I just realized I never shared a photo of the final product with my SS Edmund Fitzgerald Halloween costume! The legend lives on....

Here's one of my old poems on migratory waterfowl and situationships from the vault. If it resonates with you, sound off in comments!

More scenes from the Renner Shipyard, where the Edmund Fitzgerald has been dry docked for a new paint job.

Update on the SS Edmund Fitzgerald:

After some meticulous duct taping and resorting to using a Sawzall for precision cutting, the cardboard hull can now hold a load of iron ore twenty six thousand tons more than the vessel weighs empty. Or at least a curious cat.

The year is 2029. A lone first-year UNL student wanders into an abandoned auditorium on the first floor of Hardin Hall. Lights flicker on. A dormant projector overhead awakens from its slumber.

"I've been waiting for you, little one," Cornelius rumbles as he pulls up the Soils 101 syllabus.🌽

On tonight's episode of "Liz Multitasks Her Way Through the 2025 World Series," I'm shelling heirloom lima beans from my garden while waiting for somebody to get accidentally beaned by a 99 mph four-seam fastball. #GoBlueJays

If the authoritarian bootlicker ghouls dismantling our democratic institutions wanna arrest this proud, card-carrying Antifa leftist, they'll have to catch her first. 😤

I passed my motorcycle safety training class exam this morning with a perfect score to earn my licensing endorsement! When the fascists come for me, they'll be getting a face full of exhaust from my newly restored '78 Honda CB400T II Hawk. 😎

Lmao @ "HEPATITAS." This country is run by ghoulishly evil and embarrassingly moronic rich people who couldn't pass a basic evaluation of science literacy. The vaccine paranoia and claims that Tylenol during pregnancy causes autism is just anti-intellectualism, ableism & misogyny in a trenchcoat.

Hey everyone, could you please help me make my grandmother's upcoming 90th birthday extra special? Grandma Gail is a retired US postmaster, so she LOVES sending & receiving mail! Would you please drop a birthday card or postcard in the mail for her? I'd like her to see a wide variety of zip codes! 💟

Potatoes! Tomatoes! Beans! Cucumbers! Jalapeños! Pumpkins the size of my nephew! I love harvest season.

Found this 8 iron while fly fishing at a pond in my hometown tonight. What is the most unhinged object you've ever found next to or submerged in a body of water?

Harvested another round of produce from my garden by headlamp & taillights tonight because there's simply not enough time in the day. Can't stop thinking about the ripe produce rotting on vines & trees across America tonight or the emaciated P@lestinians being starved to death by !sr@e\ in G@z@.

I love a good journal article title, but this is where I draw the line:

Re-sharing my two original poems from Substack. I can't get the gravity of this violence toward fellow humans out of my head. I wrote a follow-up after I heard that #Andry had been freed and read his account of the torture and abuse to which he was subjected.

Rep. Garcia, I can't thank you enough for your efforts to shed light on Andry's story and fight to get him out of CECOT. I wrote and shared a poem on my social media last week to bring attention to Andry's situation & amplify calls to donate to his legal defense fund. 🏳️‍🌈 Solidaridad y gratitud. -Liz
