The same thing keeps happening: I write a skeet, stopping to un-autocorrect words that are completely different, then I hit "Post" and discover at some future time that autocorrect somehow changed a bunch of things anyway - not the same things, though.

Also not the main point but when yahoo acquired tumblr, corporate made the yahoo newsroom use tumblr as our cms for the news and it ~sucked~
OK so now the former CEO of Tumblr is running the Washington Post. Tumblr. A company whose history is a textbook case study in corporate value destruction.

New York’s queer hockey club is seeing a LOT more interest these days! (and so are leagues like it around the country.) new story from me:

The Pride Hockey Alliance has been bringing “hot queer friends” together for years before the buzziest show on ice.

Avery Mann, 25, really, really wants colleague Mac Wheatley, 34, to like her, despite him universally being considered a colossal douche by everyone he encounters.

I made this tribute poster to celebrate the Granada Sherlock Holmes series starring Jeremy Brett 2 years ago and it is good. Lots of very specific details from the show. I don't often feel happy with my work but I was going back through old files and thought "people should see this!" So here you go.

Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth with Money in My Hand by Primitive Radio Gods
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

I found my old iPod and I’ve ordered a PS Vita. It’s all part of experimenting with how I use digital technology in 2026.

On top of my update, find plenty of great reads from the past month in the January recap.

Some were already on this continent, some were told to marry each other and shoved on a boat by a king (to do colonialism) then ~280 years later some of their descendants crossed a border, some were too poor, some were having a bad time farming, and who can forget the "Germans" who fled Prussia.
Genuinely curious: If your family is American, what brought them here?

The Pitt got greenlit for a season 3, out next February, and the announcement has very funny comment from HBO chairman Casey Bloys that’s like “yeah, turns out if you just make a TV show like how we used to make TV shows you can have a 15+ episode season every year 🤷‍♂️”

People will quote a lot of Catherine O'Hara in the next few days and with good reason because she has a lot of quotable lines but I think the main thing she did was permanently change how people say "David"
