Hey, as a librarian I need to tell you:

Our funding depends on usage.

So go ahead and check out that book even if you don't think you'll finish it. No one will know. Check out that DVD even though you might not like it. Get ambitious in your quest for knowledge.

You know how anthropologists love finding interred skeletons with bones that have been broken and safely set, lbecause it shows that real humanity happened there? Old literature is like that too, if you read it.

If you don't read old stuff you miss out on one of the funniest scenes in a story I've ever read (Genji Monogatari-- Genji and To no Chujo are stupid teens together). You miss out on the poem about a knight kicking a dragon in the asshole until it shits itself to death.
If you don’t read old stuff you’ll never discover that people in the olden days had the same thoughts and feelings and dreams and anxieties you do, sometimes articulated differently, sometimes exactly the same way. You are never truly alone in anything and old writings are a neon sign telling you so

You may be tempted to roll your eyes and say that this was obvious, but there is a substantive difference between pointing out there is a slippery slope and having solid evidence that Ring's CEO is planning to expand Search Party beyond lost pets. Kudos to 404 Media.
Scoop: Ring's CEO told staff Search Party is not going to be just for dogs, according to a leaked email I obtained. Said it is "first for finding dogs" before suggesting it would be expanded to be used for crime:

Leaked Email Suggests Ring Plans to Expand ‘Search Party’ Surveillance Beyond Dogs
Ring's CEO told staff the feature is “first for finding dogs,” indicating a plan to expand.

Every one of the main characters has a different name for you, and the routes (which it has) are fundamentally about who you choose to affirm and who you choose to reject.

It is structured EXACTLY the way a dating sim is, with an emphasis on allegiance and your feelings over plot.

"You have the house to yourself all week? Any fun plans?"

Yes. Today I will do two loads of laundry. Then I think I will bake cookies or bread or both. Then I will shower. And no one else will need to use the washer or the bathroom.

There is no drawdown. There is no retreat. ICE is just redistributing their assets to better avoid accountability.
The same day DHS announced the surge would end in Minnesota, ICE activity increased in small towns
The less densely populated areas outside the Twin Cities make it harder for protesters and observers to organize.

The left tried for decades to pass green energy subsidies, passed them, the subsidies worked, and now literally the entire planet's electricity grid is going to convert to solar+battery. It just doesn't feel like "tech" because it mostly produces kinda boring blue collar jobs instead of billionaires
