A lot of Democrats really love the idea of seeing Republicans switch sides to their party which has happened pretty frequently since the ascendancy of Trump, and caused them to feel that median voter is always on the verge of aligning with them while they ignore the obvious answer of their own base.

An interesting article on the best gas masks to wear, but the real interesting part is that tear gas seems to be a tool for inciting, not quelling, riots, and therefore protestors in gas masks should be seen as people actively trying to avoid a riot.
