So years before I came out, there would be instances of conventions, etc. inviting me to speak on queer cartoonist panels. And I always would sent very polite emails going "oh I'm not queer, I just like to have a lot diversity in my stories" HMM HOW SILLY, WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING

So I had a deviated septum fixed recently and it turns out I basically had no sense of smell until now. Was nobody going to tell me *everything* had a smell??? I only thought it was some things!

Being nice is severely underrated. I like it when readers are nice to me, it's my favorite thing!
The thing I want to stress to people: Authors (and other artists you admire) don't *expect* you to be scintillating when you meet us, so don't worry about being clever. What *is* appreciated is if you're nice. Just be nice! Nice is good!
But what if I say something completely stupid?? My anxiety is too high to speak coherently when meeting an author. The most I can manage is something like "thank you for writing and sharing your work. It has become my friend and I brought it here for you to sign, please." Then I flee.

I've spent a week trying to figure out why many white women, especially Midwesterners, are very loud steppers, or Clompers, if you will. I think it's because they kind of lead with their shoulders when they walk, as white people don't move their hips much, putting more weight into each oncoming step

I finally watched the James Gunn Superman and if anything, I think people undersold how hard it goes on Israel. Watching the Justice Gang/League beat the shit out of the not-IDF and dropping not-Netanyahu to his doom was magnificent. Also Lex Luthor just being Elon Musk is inspired.

Hey internet, I'm searching in vain for an 80s gamebook series that was a Choose Your Own Adventure thing, but a different. It was explicitly just horror stories, and it wasn't the 90s Goosebumps ones.
