2026 is the year I stop acting like I'm not a big success. I've lived solely off my bestselling comics for my entire adult life, I get recognized on the street, and I may or may not have influenced the trajectory the Zelda franchise.

slightly different issue maybe but I feel like if you want to be big on social media it should be for the purpose of funneling ppl towards the actual thing you make. these platforms are impermanent. readers will seek out your books in stores or check in w your webcomics website etc

I've just embraced sounding like a total bitch at this point.
Kids: it doesn't matter how many eyes you get on your comic if there's not much to see yet. 1,000 strangers looking at your inconsistent work and clicking away is inferior to one person seeing something good and telling their friends.

I wish there was a way to tell young beginner cartoonists looking for promotional advice that they need to stop putting all their energy into marketing & work on their comic instead without sounding like a total bitch. my love, there is nothing to market

I believe the Zelda fans have taken the lore way too seriously. And I blame it on the 2000s Western fanbase for creating canon tiers and NOT take into account of ancillary media from Japan, instead focusing everything on English releases.

I watched the zeltik video about age of imprisonment that opened by focusing on how it's actually canon and later on they talk about how the game deserves to be on the Zelda timeline because it's canon and enriches the world and like I feel like I've lost the will to roll my eyes by now

It's interesting, several folks have made this comparison. I haven't heard of Talisman before, but I looked it up. It seems pretty neat!
In my head Orb Quest is a cross between Heroquest and Monopoly, but also the Orb drops weird scenarios on you like those hybrid VHS board games from the 90s.
