Tapping the XKCD sign again to explain that no, I won't be seeing an aurora tonight. Or at least I really hope not. That would be bad. :)

Aurora color guide! What creates the different shades?

Different atoms getting "excited" at different altitudes

The bright reds are a sign of a particularly intense event

Remember when I said that without the recriminations @whitehouse.senate.gov wanted to stop we would never know who was actually for or against capitulation?

The entire Dem caucus is concealing the truth bc they think that leaves all the no-voters innocent.

But the 5th doesn't apply to voters.

A decade ago, solar power barely registered in Hungary’s electricity mix — just 0.2% of generation. Back then, nuclear, coal, and gas dominated the grid.

Fast forward ten years and solar power now supplies around 1/4 of Hungary’s electricity — a remarkable transformation.

This here is why Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines whips ass. In the World of Darkness, vampires are constantly in friction with their Humanity. The text of the game is that vampires have to fight not to see humans as cattle and instruments. You can act this way, but you should feel like shit.
Hell … I’ve heard of a voice actor flubbing a line, and saying the iconic:

“Fuck a duck in a cunty bucket”

Which … you are never going to actually get that from AI … but you might actually be able to get and use something like that from a person.
Actors interpret lines and bring personality to them that a writer never considered.

AI will never give us an experience like Tim Curry’s iconic line:
“I’m going to the one place that hasn’t been corrupted by capitalism … … … … SPAAACE”

Honestly, this is a legendary-tier burn, and one of the many reasons I follow you.

You ever think about what a fucking miracle it is that Shape of Water exists? Not only did GDT manage to get taken seriously enough to win best fucking picture in 2018 but it did so without compromising on being 100% For All You Monsterfuckers Out There. What the fuck.
@nytimes.com , as you know, many people have said, admittedly without evidence, that every single story you run has to be personally approved by a billionaire before it’s published. Is that true?
Ms Rachel says The New York Times asked her if she’s funded by Hamas

it's important to understand that when the NY Times does this - "asks a question" with no evidence behind it - it's because they want to raise the salience of the question.

They want to imply that it's a reasonable thing to ask.

They want to help the allegation stick against Ms Rachel.

If they are acting the way "bad faith leftists" assume they act, maybe the leftists were simply correct? In fact, if you look at the leftist sentiment on everything this past election cycle, they have the single most accurate track record of anyone else.

Maybe it's just salient analysis.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Chuck Schumer Helps Pull Democrats Back From Brink Of Courage
Reposted by Sapphire
One of the talking points I keep seeing from Democrats is that part of the deal is that it will "ensure federal workers receive back pay" but that's the existing law!

That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.

What we are seeing is a replay of the surrender on Covid protections because it was going to impact the wealth class in a way that would make it harder to accrue wealth without consequences.

Liberals already made the choice to kill millions to maintain the wealth class status quo.
Maybe important to note it was the disruption in air travel that Democrats couldn't stand and not, you know, 40+ million people not knowing where their next meal was coming from.

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous
