"When history judges us, it won’t ask how “agile” we were.

It will ask who we housed, who we fed, who we sheltered, who we lifted up when the lift got stuck.

That’s the only kind of fast that matters."

I actually can't get over Pádraig Mac Lochlainn of all people driving the wedge on minorities - first migrants, now trans people. Brother have you looked at what has been done to your own people in this country for centuries

Here's something that takes seconds and could have actual positive outcomes.

There is an official 'citizen's petition' system in the EU. There's one open at the moment to ban conversion therapy for LGBT+ people in the EU.

Ireland can be 1 of the 7 nations needed

Incredible replies to this from the type of people who would have a heart attack if you said a Bodega is the same as a Centra
I was in Tesco last week and asked the child working if they sold buckfast and he asked me what it was. I said tonic wine and he said it might be beside the tonic water. What are they teaching in schools?

Even taken as given Ireland has real issues with antisemitism that need to be addressed (which I agree with!) you have to wonder at some point if the focus on this one tiny country on Europe's periphery might be motivated by something other than concern for the welfare of its Jewish population

Newly elected Soc Dem TD Eoin Hayes has been suspended from the party with “immediate effect” following the revelation that he sold his shares in a US company that supplies the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) a month after he was elected as a councillor

For 20 minutes newly elected Soc Dems TD Eoin Hayes refused to answer:
1) When he divested his shares in Palantir (Cian O’Callaghan said last week it was “this year”)
2) How much he received from the shares
3) If he will be donating any of it to Palestinian causes.

Perhaps before arguing for compulsory turnout, we could consider that a party leader couldn’t vote yesterday because she was in hospital having a baby. How about we widen access to postal votes & deal with the state of the electoral register first and see what that does to turnout? #ge24

Lots of chat about the Greens, who delivered policy is spades, being punished in #GE24 is missing a key point: the majority of Green voters are values/principles voters. It's not just about what you do, it's about how you do it, how you communicate it, and how you frame it.

Checking this board for “Misrepresent the law to try to withhold Mother and Baby Home Records”.
This is fascinating. The Greens' Ossian Smyth posted a June 2020 wishlist for government, and they've achieved much of it. Yet, the Greens could lose all their seats. It's a bit depressing.
