Jirel is such an underappreciated part of S&S. She deserves as much recognition as Conan and Elric do, imo.
"Jirel and the Mirror of Truth", by @mollytanzer.bsky.social, can be found in issue three of New Edge Sword & Sorcery!

Cover art by @azuremeraki.bsky.social, interior illustrations for Molly's story by Saprophial.

A shoddy Oklahoma University essay went viral. Cis people think this is about conservatives whining for better grades. Trans people see a planned attack on a trans academic. (Note for free subscriber...

ICE is using a new app called Mobile Fortify to scan people's faces and determine their immigration status.

The government's use of biased, unreliable facial recognition tech to supercharge its mass deportation campaign endangers all of our rights.

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

Aside from Miss Major, are there any other transfeminine author who have passed away in the last twelve months? Want to make sure I recognize everyone.

Some days life makes it very evident why my work matters so much.

Had an incredibly shitty day today and let the world and the Horrors get to me. But fiction lifts the soul from the depths of despair.

The miserable bastard who did this just got a trillion dollar pay day. There's no karma, there's no cosmic justice. There's just horrible people who more often than not never gave any consequences for their actions in life.

A series of interesting ideas with classic cosmic horror play The King in Yellow are completely waylaid by one of the most unlikeable main character dynamics I've read in fiction this year.

I loathed the ending of this book too. Major suicide TW to any prospective readers.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue this week, alongside multiple other phenomenal team members.

At our Summit, I was asked how it felt to be 1 of 2 Black women left and what that meant for representation. Now, there are no Black women at Teen Vogue and that is incredibly painful to think about.

Devastating. Teen Vogue's politics coverage has been incredible and this is a major loss for journalism.

Legacy journalism keeps on getting rid of the only people making it worth anything anymore.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
