She's running to replace Dick Durbin and, uh, to say this is a welcome change in tone and attitude would be a hell of an understatement.
They said it. We’re all thinking it.

When Tom Homan, Trump and other Republicans defend the masking of ICE agents, I can't help but think of Orson Welles announcing on his radio show his intention of identifying the South Carolina police officer who violently attacked and blinded the uniformed Black veteran Isaac Woodard in 1946.

Correct
I always think about the 2000 SAG strike and the success of Survivor during that time. I feel like studios did the math on expenses and found a new and far more profitable path to exploit that minimized negotiations with talent.

The "Accountability" issue is getting muddled and we should be clear about what it is and isn't. I don't need Democrats to post Trumpian memes and say swears on TV, I want them to impose legal consequences on our criminal president and his accomplices. Until they can, they should cheerlead for it
Beshear: "If somebody is looking for a Democratic version of Trump, that's not me. My goal is to bring people together, my goal is to heal the country. You can't do that if you're engaged in the same tactics he is. If that's what the American people are looking for, I'm not their guy."

Letting Republicans off the hook without legal consequences for their crimes isn’t “bringing people together,” it’s encouraging them to keep committing crimes. After January 6th, there should be no more confusion about this.

Please help Sama'a's family survive Israel's genocide, which has left them starving & homeless under renewed bombing. Bring them some hope during Ramadan:
Ramadan in Gaza is not a month of peace… but a test of survival.

We fast through hunger and break our fast to the sound of bombs.

Our kids don’t ask about Eid… they ask, “Will we live to see tomorrow?”

What kind of Ramadan is this where mercy is besieged? 💔

A reminder that reality TV doesn't exist in a vacuum. It lives because the networks want to make money without having to pay union-based rates for the work. The blame belongs to the networks, the same networks the unions strike against. Always follow the money (and the union-busting).
One could argue that the death of well-written sitcoms and dramas, and the rise of reality TV, brought us to this point.

And ultimately, that all came down to TV that was cheap to produce but high on returns.

We literally lost more carefully thought-out plot lines and cultural models.
at the hope of not sounding like a 'well akshuley' meme.

A lot of us do, or did when we where in the game. Our media models, mostly in young adult dramas, almost always had a "well listen dumbass' episode to set the point. These days, it's all "Real Housewives Survivor: Jersey Shore"

a lot of impunity news today
"The cops can drink as much as they want there...The bartenders serve them till they're blackout drunk and let them leave." Quote from a woman who was hit by a drunk-driving cop *while sitting in her living room.* This story from the @inquirer.com is a hell of a thing. share.inquirer.com/yynTQX
Members-only Philly cop bar has been linked to two DUIs — and a third crash kept secret, until now
Anna Wakeman still questions why 7C Lounge bartenders didn’t stop serving the officer who crashed into her house and upended her life five years ago.
