@briankeene.bsky.social hello, I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for all of your work. I started reading your books in 2007 when I was picked up Ghoul at the PX on Fort Seel. I haven't missed a book since. I am loving the Labyrinth series and can not get enough.

Calling all Women Writers of specific, particularly horror!

Our programming schedule is now up. Tickets are still available - and remember, this is a separate ticketed event from AuthorCon proper.

As someone who’s been going (when I can) since the very first year, I can honestly attest—there is no other event like this. Single-handedly special, just like its founder. If you have the means, and you’re looking for your people, I HIGHLY recommend it for both community minded writers & readers.
Believe it or not, the first Mo*Con was in 2006 making this year its 20th Anniversary! We can’t let that achievement go uncelebrated, so we’re bringing back some old friends and welcoming some new ones! Mo*Con 2026 runs April 30th (coincidentally my birthday) through May 2nd.

Every time I hear about a press not paying royalties it makes me furious. You receive the royalties, you distribute the royalties. Real simple. Don't blow it on anything else, just PAY YOUR AUTHORS. And stop making lame excuses for not having the money. You just look like a scam artist.

This would seem to contradict that. This isn't about new fiction, but paying royalties owed.

Which part is the flat out lie? The posts your wife made on this platform about potentially crowdfunding royalties, or the posts you both have made on this platform about her being banned from multiple conventions, or the posts you made on this platform alleging a vast racist conspiracy against you?
Everyone who knows me knows that this is a flat out lie. But go ahead and get your likes and reposts.

What confuses me about this post is that yesterday I posted the emails that Emily asked me to post in which I asked for evidence and received none. So, idk.

I haven't read everything so people very well could be calling for full deplatforming but mostly I have seen ppl being annoyed -
It's clear that the genre consensus is I've been removed from our platforms rightfully and not from being marked by racists and the power structure.

Let me reiterate, no one has ever been willing to see the evidence. That should matter.

I'm going quiet now. I tried.

It's incredibly rare to see such a broad spectrum of the industry speak out against a particular move. This is one of those times....NO ONE in the comics creative community likes this policy.

I am bloody ECSTATIC to say that ITCH! IS OUT TODAY IN THE USA!

Hardback, ebook, and audiobook (narrated by me) now all available. This is the longest I have ever promoted one single book!

If you've been patiently waiting for a physical copy: THANKYOU.

Calling them out on bad business, unprofessional behavior, malfeasance, etc isn’t “bullying”. It’s protecting your peers.

Example: EDE Bell / Chris Bell / Athis Arts claim they’re being “bullied” because “conspiracy”. No, you’re being called out because you’re allegedly grifting, toxic amateurs.
Cosigned 💯.

See also: book publishing, chapbook publishing, audiobook publishing, etc.

If you are publishing someone else’s work for profit then it ain’t a hobby, no matter what your intention. It’s a business. Treat it accordingly, and warn your peers about those who don’t.
I'm just going to gently say that a lot of people get into publishing comics with good intentions but do not have the ability to manage the intensity of doing it even on a small scale. If you can't be honest & transparent with people you should not be in a position of power over them, full stop.

Emily Bell, Atthis Arts. That's who I am talking about.

I'm done.

I posted this and two minutes later she blocked me.

It's been a year of this. I'm fucking done.
I'm stuck in a moral quandary.

At what point is my silence protecting a questionable person because of my fear of punching down? At what point does it matter if I have personal experience, or just eyes?

I don't have a problem being a bull. I just don't want to be a bully.
