Children born in the U.S. are being used as pawns to further President Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda.

We’re fighting back at the Supreme Court.

BREAKING: A federal court ruled that the Trump administration is unlawfully denying bond hearings to potentially thousands of people in New England who were deprived of the opportunity to challenge their ongoing ICE detention.

Everyone in the United States is entitled to due process.

Many of us will be gathering around tables this holiday season with people who we don’t always agree with.

No matter who you’re in conversation with, we have some guidance for a smoother discussion.

The ACLU's Holiday Conversation Guide
Pass the yams and the politically-fraught chatter, everyone - it's that time of year again. We know many of us will find ourselves gathering around tables this holiday season with a wide range of folks in our lives - loved ones, friends, chosen family, and the family you'd only choose to spend one day a year with.

ICE unlawfully grabbed our client Rümeysa Öztürk off the street and sent her to a for-profit detention center in Louisiana — all for an op-ed she co-authored in her student paper.

What happened to Rümeysa is part of a broader crackdown on the First Amendment and immigrants' rights.
Tufts grad student Rümeysa Öztürk did nothing wrong. The Trump administration went after her anyway. - The Boston Globe
In March, masked agents swarmed her on a Somerville street. The crackdown on foreign scholars was just beginning.

BREAKING: A Fitchburg resident, Carlos Zapata Rivera, is suing an ICE agent for excessive force during a vehicle stop and arrest.

All people in the U.S. have a constitutional right to be free from excessive force. The agent’s actions against Carlos were dangerous, grossly excessive, and unlawful.

BREAKING: A federal judge ordered the government to restore Rümeysa Öztürk's SEVIS student record after it was wrongfully terminated in retaliation for exercising her freedom of speech.

This allows her to fully engage with the opportunities of her PhD program.

Colleges and universities are pillars of free expression and open inquiry.

Students and faculty—regardless of their nationality or immigration status — must be able to freely engage in political discourse without fear of official retaliation.

ICE has gone too far - It's time for lawmakers to take action.

We are calling on elected officials to pass reforms to address ICE's unaccountable actions:
❌DON'T assist ICE.

❌DON'T turn police into ICE agents
.
✅DO fund legal help to fight deportations.

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the trans people lost to violence in the U.S. this year.

Widespread poverty, homelessness, and discrimination makes trans people 4x more likely to experience violence than the average person.

We shouldn’t have to live in fear to be who we are.
