It is absolutely outrageous that Moderna’s flu vaccine was met with a “refusal-to-file” even after their approved their protocol with FDA and carried out the trial as agreed. This vaccine works better in older adults than the current flu vaccines.

This is troubling for multiple reasons, but one big one is companies won’t want to invest in R&D and clinical trials if they don’t think they can get a fair regulatory review—which is at the end of a long and extremely expensive process.

age verification is functionally a huge security hazard for _all_ internet users but the government will call you a danger to children if you point this out
“In October, one of Discord’s former third-party vendors suffered a data breach that exposed users’ age verification data, including images of government IDs.”
Discord will require a face scan or ID for full access next month

In other news, Bruce Springsteen wrote a super patriotic song called Born in the USA
We saw a similar naive tak for the Green Day performance - I am not smart enough to analyze but it seems as if MSM wants to tell everyone things are "normal" and if no one says FUCK ICE" then they can tell us to sigh in relief that civility prevailed, regardless of what was actually said/meant.

To repeat.

And to repeat:

The political faction saying we must all have to log legal ID before speaking or accessing speech on the Internet,

and the political faction who believe transgenderism is a dangerous mental contagion that spreads by speech about transgenderism,

are the same faction.
Age verification is deanonymization,
Deanonymization is censorship.

The Supreme Court is now taking away your right to anonymously *read* a form of speech. If speaking can mean that your readers have to subject themselves to potential consequences to read it, how can there be freedom of speech?
NEW: In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court held that age verification for explicit sites is constitutional. The majority said it protects minors without violating free speech; dissenters warned it burdens adults’ rights and ignores First Amendment precedent.

Since the early days of the space program, astronauts have quarantined before missions because any illness could be disastrous. It’s eminently logical — not “extreme” — for athletes who’ve trained their WHOLE LIVES for one event to take similar precautions in order to stay in peak physical condition

For most people, the pandemic days of masking are behind us. In certain corners of the Winter Olympics, though, things still look a lot like they did in Covid times. Some athletes are taking extreme measures to stay healthy. n.pr/4akK70l

All of our labels have some amount of historical blood on them. If queer folks self-censored every descriptive term for ourselves that others have ever used as an insult or slur against us, we’d have no vocabulary to express our inner lives at all.

Which is exactly what bigots and fascists want.

Mortality rates were so high on sugar plantations during slavery that slaveholders used to coerce enslaved people working other crops like cotton with threats to sell them or their loved ones to sugar plantations.

That’s where the term “sold down the river” came from.

when non-americans say 'Yankee', they usually mean 'USAian'

when USAians say 'Yankee' they mean a WASP from New England and if they are not themselves from New England, it's not a compliment
